Why We Trim The Pads of the Feet
Paragon founder, Melissa Verplank, CMG write more about this topic in her book, " Notes From the Grooming Table." "It's definitely a health issue: mats can cause discomfort between the toes and pads. Matting traps moisture, causing skin irritation. Excessive coat also hides burrs, thorns, tar, gum, etc. that can be uncomfortable to your dog.
Cleanliness: a neatened foot pad will not track as much dirt and debris into your home.
Each breed standard calls for a specific foot type. Trimming accentuates the look and gives a "finished picture" of a well groomed pet."
