When it comes to thinners, you should invest in the best you can afford. Good ones are worth their weight in gold! You may even want to have more than one pair on hand, so when you need to have a set sharpened, you're not without a backup shear.
TIP: Shears made with cobalt are among the best shears, as this durable metal holds an edge longer, requiring less sharpening.
Not matter which shear you choose, make sure you follow the warranty (if any) and select a qualified sharpening service. A properly sharpened pair of shears makes all the difference!
