Grooming Tip of the Month
February is Pet Dental Month
Many of our guests have questions about their pet's dental health care needs. Like us, pets benefit from proper dental hygiene. Most of us brush our own teeth a couple time a day, but we may overlook brushing the teeth of our pets. Regular tooth brushing is just as important for your pet as it is to you and the sooner your pet is introduced to the process, the easier it will be.
Regular brushing helps reduce tartar buildup and prevents bad breath. While some pet owners hesitate to get professional cleaning from the vet because the use of anesthesia can be costly and risky, it's still a great method of getting those teeth healthy and beautiful.
Preventative maintenance is the answer. Brush your dog's teeth on a regular basis. If you find the process to be challenging, try switching to a doggie toothpaste with a beef or chicken flavor. Remember never to use a toothpaste not designed specifically for pets. Or - let us try! This service only costs $6.00 after the purchase of a toothbrush and can be performed every time you pet comes in for an appointment - we'll even store your pet's toothbrush for you. Make this a regular part of your pet's grooming and you'll start seeing results.

Did You Know...?
Not all cats will respond to catnip? About 30% of all cats lack the "catnip gene," which allows them to respond to the chemicals in catnip that drive most kitties wild.
You can grow your own catnip at home along with other herbs in your garden. At the end of the season, trim off what's left and hang it to dry. You can then crumble the dried leaves into an airtight container to use all winter long.
