Holiday Appointments

It's hard to believe that Thanksgiving is only three weeks away. The three days before the holiday fill up quickly, so it's best to schedule your appointment now to avoid being put on a waiting list.

Even if your pet just got a haircut, we can freshen up your dog or cat with an inexpensive bath and brush out that will make him look and smell great when family comes to visit. We can even put on a festive bow or bandana of your choice!

Toby Helton

Toby is a cutie! His family has been visiting us for a couple of years and during that time Toby has had a few different cool hair styles. Toby's personality can be felt from across the room. He's no pushover!

We love having him visit with us. He's a lot of fun and is a real sweetheart!

Homemade Dog Biscuit Recipe

3/4 cup hot water

1/3 cup margarine

1/2 cup powdered milk

1 teaspoon salt

1 egg, beaten

3 cups whole wheat flour

(Variation: increase margarine to 1/2 cup and add 2 teaspoons sugar.)

In large bowl pour hot water over the margarine. Stir in powdered milk, salt, and egg. Add flour, 1/2 cup at a time. Knead for a few minutes to form stiff dough. Pat or roll to 1/2 inch thickness. Cut into bone shapes. Bake at 325 degrees for 50 minutes. Cool. They will dry out quite hard. Makes about 1 1/4 pounds of biscuits. Costs around 30 cents per pound!

As a cat owner, I used to believe that cats groomed themselves. They spend an awful lot of time licking and cleaning, so I figured they were spiffy enough. Then, on a whim, I took my kitty to a professional - just to see the difference - and WHAT a difference it was!

Cats get matted. They're naturally oily. They shed. I needed help with all of these issues. My older cats were greasy and all of them were shedding all over the house. Shampoos - Which One is Best for My Pet?

Paragon offers a variety of shampoos for your pet's grooming needs, but how do you know which one is best?

Start by talking to us - let us know if your dog has allergies, dry skin, or itching. The more information we have, the better able we will be to make a proper recommendation. We can often help determine a good product fit at check in if we see something obvious, but nothing works better than good communication. Have you seen dry and flaky skin? Redness? Chewing? Sores or abrasions? Whatever you've noticed, even if you don't know the clinical terms, will go a long way toward helping us find something to ease your pet's discomfort. If your pet needs more help than we can offer, we'll tell you, so that you can speak with your vet, if necessary.
