The 2014 Old Fashioned Corn Roast Festival is slated for Aug. 22-23, 2014. The event includes the parade, corn shucking competition, corn eating contest, and all the roasted and boiled corn you can eat! In addition, people of all ages will enjoy a variety of entertainment, great vendors and more. General attendance and all concerts are free and open to the public. More to come!

Modernization of Telecommunications Laws Takes Center Stage

A lot has changed in the world of telecommunications
and Internet technology since 1987. The one thing that hasn't are the state laws that regulate the telecommunications industry. Last week, the House Business Affairs and Labor passed a package of legislative proposals that seek to update the telecommunications laws to reflect today's modern technology.

This biannual fundraising event showcases local artisans and vendors giving a venue to sell their merchandise at a reasonable price.
