Gestural Engineering
We recently completed installation of a new permanent exhibit at the MIT Museum. Gestural Engineering: The Sculpture of Arthur Ganson features "perpetually useless" kinetic sculptures that are operated by the visitor. The new gallery allows direct access to each machine and includes tactile displays featuring some of the materials Ganson uses, and several videos that provide background and context. SmallCorp is proud to have worked closely with the staff at the MIT Museum and Boston-based museum design firm IKD to make this exhibition a reality.

Into the Mystic
NEMA's annual meeting is in Mystic CT November 9 - 11
Come see us at New England Museum Association's annual meeting in Mystic, CT November 9 - 11

Mike, Wendy and Sarah will be at the New England Museum Association's annual conference in Mystic, CT next week, Wednesday to Friday. Come see us at booth 50.  The theme of this year's conference is Museums and Social Responsibility. Museums can make an impact, using their community standing and clout as a means to facilitate change. How much is too much, and how much is just right? Join us to find out...

West Coast Dreaming?
People often ask, can you ship to me here on the West Coast? The answer? Absolutely! We ship to the East Coast, the West Coast, and everywhere in between, every day.  Here's the story of one successful project that was based on the West Coast. If you'd like to learn more about our crating and shipping, to wherever you are, let us know.

Framers Love
The Holidays!
We've been keeping our lead times down to a reasonable two to three weeks, but don't leave your holiday orders too long. We always appreciate a little extra time to get things done. SmallCorp Finished Corner Picture Frames

Sharing
We rarely get to see photos of our work when it's complete. We see frames in a box, or with masking, or a little dusty. You get to see them all prettied up and ready for the public. If you'd like to share photos of your efforts, our staff would love to see them. If we can use them on our website portfolio, or in promotional materials, let us know. No promises that we will, but we'll be sure to credit you if we do.

Free shop tours
We're always pleased to show our friends around our shop, and to show and tell a bit about what we do and how we do it. Next time you're in Boston, or Albany, or off to ski in Vermont or New Hampshire, make a point of stopping in to see us. You never know what you'll learn.
The new panels are to the right. Even though there are fewer, they generate just as much power as the originals ones

Work-related Distractions
One More Thing

The other day Sarah and I met Thoren Vadala of Make a Frame in Brooklyn. We were pleasantly surprised to hear him say "I've been in this business for years and I always knew about SmallCorp but I thought you would be too expensive. I finally decided to ask, and it turned out not to be the case."  Now he orders every week.  If you'd like to learn more about our pricing, experience or quality or if you just want to chat, give us a call.
