Greetings!

Welcome to SmallCorp News, our bi-monthly effort to stay in touch and share some of the valuable tips and information we've accumulated in our 40-plus years of manufacturing museum-quality display cases and picture frames.

If you find the newsletter useful, please feel free to pass it along to a colleague who might benefit from it, and if you have suggestions on improvements or future topics, don't hesitate to let me know.

Thank you again for your association with SmallCorp, we couldn't do it without you.

Best regards,
Mike Dunphy

...our cut-to-size fluted polypropylene backer board, an affordable alternative to Coroplast.  It is a 100% archival, acid-free, neutral-PH polypropylene with no dies or additives. We have it made just for us in 4mm, 6mm and 8mm thicknesses.

In addition to cut-to-size, we also sell full sheets by the carton.

Carpet Easel -
Vizcaya Museum & Gardens

We recently worked with Vizcaya Museum & Gardens to make a display/storage fixture  for the 27 foot long by 8 foot wide "Admiral Carpet". The carpet is now on display in the Living Room at Vizcaya, with about 16 feet exposed and supported by our lightweight and rigid aluminum honeycomb panels. The remaining length of carpet is rolled and stored in the pedestal below.

This product regulates the humidity in your case without the need for water and the associated filling and emptying of reservoirs. Stop by Booth 6 and learn how it works!

LED Lighting in Museum Environments

Van, Hoyt and Mike recently attended a seminar on LED lighting for museums at the Lunder Conservation Center in Washington DC. It seems that despite some fears and concerns, LEDs are not only acceptable for museum use, they are preferred. You can learn more, including downloading the summary report from the AIC committee, and viewing the archived presentations on YouTube

SmallCorp LED Spotlight
