Cycle the WAVE Surpasses One Million Dollar Mark for Fundraising!
Thanks to your continued support, this year marked two fabulous milestones for The WAVE Foundation:
We reached an all-time high of $200,000 generated for this year's Cycle the WAVE event. In addition (drumroll please!), this amount pushes us over the 1,000,000 mark for total funds raised since we began riding in 2008!
Who would have thought that a simple bike ride, designed over a cup of coffee with a few friends could grow into such a positive, engaging and successful community pillar? All of you did, of course.
Special "Thanks" to all our riders, supporters, volunteers and sponsors for helping to make this all possible!
The WAVE Foundation sends our love and good wishes for a Happy Holiday season!

2015 Grant Awards Announced
There are many fundraising events in the region, but Cycle the WAVE has always been unique in that it puts a substantial portion of its income right back into the community. Since its inception in 2008, WAVE has donated over $690,000 to 17 different agencies representing 12 different counties in the State of Washington. This year, in support of our ongoing commitment to make a diference for the next generation, we asked for grant applications that specifically targeted Youth and Education programs. In the true spirit of holiday giving, the WAVE Grants committee selected the following grant winners, which included three first-time applicants from diverse areas across the state: This grant will support prevention workshops and education opportunities that focus on healthy relationships, teen dating abuse and red flags for identification of same. DAWN (Domestic Abuse Woman's Network) - Tukwila - $15,000 award The funds will support DAWN introducing the Green Dot Program addressing the impact of bystander support and building on its existing Health Relationships Youth Prevention Program currently in four area high schools .
The grant will help strengthen and expand education services to reach 1400 youth in Jefferson County and help to strengthen their relationships with partnering agencies and organizations. Room One is an organization located in the Methow, a rural community with limited access to many DV resources. This grant will specifically help fund an all-girls support and education outreach program. The funds will be used to hire a new Youth Advocate, who is focused on providing DV prevention, education, support and services specifically designed and appropriate for youth and young adults. The grant will be used to serve youth in middle and high schools in Pierce County. They will offer workshops in local schools on teen dating and healthy relationships to any child who has experienced DV either directly or witnessed in their family while growing up.
