UW Alpha Chi Omega Sorority
On a rainy October Saturday, 400 participants took a stand against domestic violence at the annual "Walk A Mile in Her Shoes" charity event organized by the Alpha Chi Omega sorority on the University of Washington campus.
This men's awareness march challenges male participants to walk one mile around campus in high-heeled shoes. The men were up for the challenge, marched valiantly and helped raise $4000 to benefit the WAVE Foundation.
Not only did the men march, they also made personal pledges to educate themselves and others about domestic violence at The WAVE Foundation Braking the Cycle. Their seeming commitment brings hope to a generation that cultural change can happen surrounding domestic violence.
The event drew outstanding media coverage with both Q13 and KING 5 filming along the walk and interviewing students. Their efforts to cover this unique male centric event does make a difference to keep domestic violence in the public eye.
Congratulations to everyone for another fabulous event!

Vietnam Explorer Tour

February 15th - March 1st
Pricing $2950-$3900 (depending on sign-ups)
The WAVE Foundation is very excited to offer its very first international bike tour to the bicycle-friendly country of Vietnam.  This tour is produced by the internationally renowned tour company, Pedaltours NZ, and marketed by TWF.  This coed tour will include a visit with a local NGO, CSAGA, who support over 20 different domestic violence groups across the country.  It's open to all riders so bring those husbands, siblings, kids and partners along.  It's going to be an amazing experience!
This company ran a decade of over a dozen succesful tours via Cascade Bicycle Club's International tours program.  For this new TWF Vietnam tour we offer terrific group pricing discounts (up to 22% off their regular price) plus TWF Board President Sharon Anderson will be participating.  And the best part is that a portion of rider fees go back to TWF.  Pedaltours also employs a fantastic local tour outfit to help run this on the ground.  You'll be amazed at their high level of customer service and professionalism.
