She Bikes Cascade & Cycle the WAVE announce new partnership for 2015!
Cascade Bicycle Club wants everyone to discover the joys, the empowerment, the practicality and the community of bicycling. They are looking to increase the participation of women in cycling. That's why they are introducing She Bikes Cascade, a series of inclusive rides, classes, clinics, and social events to encourage more women to discover the joys and benefits of biking. Cycle the WAVE has been a leader in promoting bicycling to women since its inception 7 years ago by offering a wonderful, fun and supportive way for women of all abilities to experience the joy and camaraderie of Cycle the WAVE. So it just made great sense for She Bikes Cascade and Cycle the WAVE to team up this year to provide more resources for the community. These will include free training rides co-lead by Seattle Cycle Sirens through Cascade's free daily ride program; women specific presentations and clinics and many other fun on (and off) bike events. The She Bikes website includes much more information along with upcoming classes and rides, all led by women instructors and ride leaders.
Don't miss the BIG kick-off party in April: She Bikes Launch Party Tuesday, April 7th, 6-9pm Capitol Hill's Vermillion Art Gallery We'd like to invite all bike-pedaling ladies to come have a drink, socialize and listen to speaker Megan Jasper who is the executive vice president of Sub Pop Records and a bicycling enthusiast.

 Meet Our Riders
Anne-Gi Chan, one of The WAVE Foundation's newest board members, shares how she discovered her passion for cycling and Cycle the WAVE!
In 2009, Anne-Gi and her husband Dan decided to get a couple of bikes just so they could ride around the trails in their neighborhood. Little did she know that cycling would become such a passion in her life! These short rides around the neighborhood soon became longer rides with friends and before long, Anne-Gi was training for century and double century rides.
In 2012, Anne-Gi and her cycling buddy Debra Griffin decided to form a team and ride Cycle the WAVE for the first time. Debra came up with the name Hill Hounds on Bikes one day when they were tackling a particularly steep hill. For 3 years in a row the Hill hounds have participated in Cycle the WAVE, each year recruiting riders new to the event and/or to cycling; one Hill Hound veteran branched out to form her own team this year, recruiting even more people to participate. This year the Hill Hounds joined forces with Seattle Cycle Sirens, a women cycling group which partners with Cascade Bicycle Club to host rides, and ended up with the biggest Hill Hounds team so far.
Anne-Gi is very passionate about cycling and getting more women out there on bikes; she also feels very strongly about the cause and mission of The WAVE Foundation. She looks forward to using her capacity as a Seattle Cycle Sirens ride leader and a board member of The WAVE Foundation to introduce more women to Cycle the WAVE and raise awareness about domestic violence.
Thank you Anne-Gi and Hill Hounds on Bikes for all you do for WAVE!
