Park Shelter Reservation Program
Alma has many beautiful parks throughout the city, some of which have shelters which you can reserve for your special events. Reservations are accepted through September 30 each year. You can download the reservation form and bring it to City Hall with the appropriate fee.

Parks & Recreation Master Plan
The Parks & Recreation Committee has completed the City of Alma Park & Recreation Master Plan and it will be presented to the Alma City Commission on April 12, 2016 at a Public Hearing for adoption Interested parties may attend the public hearing to voice their opinions.

"Spring Fling" Golf Outing
The Alma Action Association 9th Annual Spring Fling Golf Outing will be on Friday, May 6, 2015 at Pine River Country Club.
This will be a four person, eighteen hole scramble. Registration begins at 9:30 a.m. with a shot gun start at 10:00 a.m. Cost is $65 per person and includes golf and a box lunch. Raffles, betting hole and cash prizes will also highlight the day. Contact Aeric Ripley for additional information.

Keep Alma Beautiful Planting
and Cleanup Day
Set your calendars for the 6th Annual Keep Alma Beautiful Cleanup Day on Saturday, May 21st starting at 9 am at the Chamber of Commerce Building. Bring your shovels, wheelbarrows, rakes and gloves and come help us get downtown ready for spring

Riverside Cemetery Flower/Decoration Rules:
Winter Decorations/Blankets:
These will be allowed in (all) parts of the Cemetery between the1st day of November and the last day of March of each year. After that date any unauthorized flowers/decorations will be removed by the Cemetery personnel.
Memorial Day Decorations:
Flowers of all kinds may be placed in (all) parts of the Cemetery between the last week of May until the 15th of June each year. After that date any unauthorized flowers/decorations will be removed by the Cemetery personnel. Any questions concerning Decorations, Markers and Monuments, please call the Cemetery office located in the Public Works Garage Building at 989-463-8901

Yard Waste Program
Start date for this year's yard waste program is April 4, 2016. Yard waste will be collected on your regular trash collection day and must be in paper bags, cardboard boxes and/or trash containers marked "yard waste". Tree limbs should be placed in piles, not bundled, with all stems lying in the same direction.

 Noxious Weed Program The City of Alma enforces a noxious weed ordinance. All property owners are required to keep weeds and grass mowed. Owners must cut the noxious weeds or the weeds will be cut and the costs will be assessed against the property by special assessment. If you have any questions please contact the Assessing Department at 463-8356 .

Household Hazardous Waste Program
The City of Alma in conjunction with the City of St. Louis, conducts a Household Hazardous Waste Program. Residents may drop off unwanted items 
such as batteries, paints, pesticides/herbicides and cleaning liquids.
NEW THIS YEARPASSENGER & LIGHT TRUCK TIRES
This year's collection dates are:
May 3rd: 8:00 am - 4:30 p.m.
May 4th: 8:00 am - 7:30 p.m.
May 5th: 8:00 am - 4:30 p.m.
The collection program will take place at the Public Works Garage,800 Washington.
Appointments are required and can be made by calling 463-8339. For more information, please give us a call.

Red  Cross Blood Drives
Help save a life during our beautiful fall season by donating blood. Following are the drives for April: Wednesday, April 6th: Alma VFW Post 1454. Noon to 6 p.m.
Friday, April 8th: Lincoln Rd. United Methodist Church 1 to 7 p.m.
Mon., April 11th: Ithaca Community Center from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Tuesday, April 19th: Alma First Presbyterian Church. 1 to 7 p.m.
Tuesday, April 19th: ZCBJ Hall in Bannister from Noon to 6 p.m.

Water Conservation Tips
- Plug the sink instead of running the water to rinse your razor and save up to 300 gallons a month.

Turn off the water while washing your hair and save up to 150 gallons a month.
-
When washing your hands, turn the water off while you lather.

On-Street Parking Ban Ends April 1. Overnight parking on the street is now allowed.
