 April 2016
The Colorado Dental Board is reviewing its rules and policies. April 28 is the final rulemaking hearing. Take action now to ensure your opinion is heard before it's too late. Changes to these rules will affect your practice. Learn more about what rules are under review in "Rules Under Revision."
The 2016 Colorado legislative season has kicked off, and the CDA is active at the Capitol advocating on behalf of you--our members. Here are five top bills of interest to those in organized dentistry.
The numbers are in, and a big thank you is due to Colorado's dentists who have shown an impressive commitment to serving Medicaid patients in our state!
Xray
The Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment (CDPHE) has mailed postcards to dentists letting them know their annual x-ray facility registration fee is due by April 30. Each facility registered with the X-Ray Certification Unit of the CDPHE is required to submit an X-Ray Facility Registration (Form R-4) each year.
Drugs
Learn how to create and activate a delegate account on the Prescription Drug Monitoring Program (PDMP). Any prescriber or pharmacist can now have up to three trained delegates who can access the PDMP on their behalf. This enables more frequent use the PDMP, resulting in the most complete medical history possible.
Congratulations to the Colorado chapter of the American Student Dental Association (ASDA) for receiving ASDA's top award--the Gold Crown Award for Ideal ASDA Chapter. Colorado ASDA also won the Newsletter Design and Layout and Social Media awards.
Do you or your staff need continuing education (CE) credits? If so, here are three upcoming CE courses that might be just what you're looking for.
Dentists, we need you! Volunteer for the Colorado Mission of Mercy (COMOM) and help celebrate 10 years of free dental care! Volunteer registration is open for the 2016 COMOM, to be held June 17-18 at Brush High School in Brush, Colo. COMOM is celebrating the clinic's 10th anniversary by "Brushing its way to Brush!" Volunteer to help, and be a part of the celebration.
If you have at least five years of experience in the practice of dentistry and are interested in sharing your expertise with a colleague, you could be a practice monitor. The dentist practice monitor role makes it possible to protect the public and at the same time provide support for dentists who are making changes in their practices and in their lives.
