Dentists can help combat and prevent prescription drug abuse by increasing awareness of the issue. The Colorado Consortium for Prescription Drug Abuse Prevention, the organization behind the Take Meds Seriously campaign, has developed an informational rack card dentists can use to inform their patients. Volunteer registration is now open for the 2015 COMOM Aug. 14-15 in Canon City. Dentists, dental hygienists, lab technicians, assistants and non-clinical volunteers will work together to provide free dental services to Coloradans in need of oral healthcare. Click here to learn more

What: New Dentist Committee Family-Friendly Event at Cheyenne Mountain Zoo
Where: Cheyenne Mountain Zoo, 4250 Cheyenne Mountain Zoo Rd., Colorado Springs, CO 80906 
When: Sunday, July 12 
Zoo Hours: 9:00 a.m.-5:00 p.m.
Family Feeding Time: 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. for a cookout buffet at Lodge Moose Lake (in the zoo)
