CDA Commercial Airs on Mon., Nov 11  
The CDA is excited to launch a TV commercial to the show the public the benefit of seeking dental care from a CDA member dentist.  Our hope is to also gain new members from this media campaign.  The CDA commercial will air on NBC stations throughout Colorado, Nov. 11 - Nov. 22.  Click here to view the time slots. 
 
Are You Interested in Serving on the State Board?  
The Colorado State Board of Dental Examiners (SBDE) will have two vacant positions available as of January 2014. The state will appoint one dentist and one public member to fill these vacant positions.  Each appointment will be for a four-year term. Click here to read more.

State Board Drafts Rules: Opioid Prescribing, Military Spouse Licensure   
The Colorado State Board of Dental Examiners (SBDE) is revising its rules related to opioid prescribing and licensure of military spouses. The intent of the proposed opioid prescribing policy is to reduce overprescribing and prescription drug abuse. Click here to read more.
 
NDC Pedals for Charity!  
On Oct. 19, CDA new dentist's "Pedaled for Charity" and raised money for KIND & COMOM.  Network with colleagues and get involved with the CDA New Dentist Committee. Space is still available for the Ft. Collins seminar / networking event TOMORROW, Nov. 9: "Working with insurance companies/3rd party payors." Click here to read more.   
 
State Board Seeks Volunteers for Anesthesia Committee  
The State Board is seeking volunteers to serve on a committee that will review anesthesia permit applications. Volunteers must hold an active permit in moderate sedation or deep sedation/general anesthesia. Click here to read more. 
 
KIND Honors Colorado Springs Dental Society & Larry Chatterley  
On Sept. 20, Kids In Need of Dentistry hosted their annual Expressions of KINDness Gala. The evening had both silent and live auctions, a surprise performance from a local kid's flash mob and awards. This year, KIND honored the Colorado Springs Dental Society and Larry Chatterley.
 
Medicaid
Update: 2014 Adult Medicaid Benefit
Colorado recently announced that it will seek applications from administrative service organizations (ASO's), usually private insurance plans, to manage the state's Medicaid dental benefits. Medicaid will select a single vendor to act as the ASO for both the children's and adult's dental benefits. Click here to read more.

Ribbon Cutting  
 
On Oct. 23, the CDA welcomed Greenwood Village Mayor Ron Rakowsky and members of the South Metro Chamber of Commerce for an official ribbon cutting ceremony for the Business Tech Center (BTC).  The BTC is the CDA's rental meeting space.  It offers free wireless internet, high-tech amenities and a beautiful learning environment surrounded by windows.
