CDA New President: Dr. Calvin Utke 

Dr. Cal Utke is the new president of the Colorado Dental Association. He is a general dentist and has a private practice in Colorado Springs, Colo. He has practiced dentistry in Colorado for 29 years. He received his D.D.S. from Creighton University in 1984.  Click here to read more.
  
Opportunity for Input: Dental Practice Act 
Starting next year, the laws that govern the practice of dentistry, known as the Colorado Dental Practice Law, will undergo a complete review by the state legislature. This process is known as a sunset review. DORA, the state agency responsible for organizing sunset review, is accepting input.  Click here to read more. 
 
Medicaid
Medicaid Reimbursement Increase 
The CDA worked during the 2013 legislative session to improve Medicaid for participating dentists. As of July 1, Medicaid reimbursement rates for dentists increased by 4.5%. This rate increase was a substantial victory for dentists who have seen disproportionate cuts in their Medicaid provider rates through the years.

CDA Easy Pay
Back by popular demand is the CDA's Easy Pay program, which allows you to pay your dues in four small monthly payments rather than one lump sum. This reduces your year-end expenses and improves your cash flow.  Signing up is easy but time is running out to enroll in this program. Click here to read more.

Grant Funding Available for Dental Care Provided to OAP Seniors  
The state of Colorado currently has almost $1M of grant funding available for organizations and providers who provide dental care to seniors eligible for Old Age Pension (OAP) assistance. The deadline to apply is Aug. 16 at 3 p.m. Click here to read more.
