Automate Conference Gets Smart

This year's Automate show was a resounding success. With twice the traffic at the convention hall compared to the show two years ago, our booth was extremely busy. The new LHP Line Scan Light and the welding helmet demos were quite the attention grabbers! It was wonderful to see everyone there. If you missed us at the show and would like more information on what we highlighted in the booth, contact us and we will send you more information.

New Silicone Moldable Optics Make SVL's High-Intensity Polarized LED Linear High-Power Line-Scan Light Possible

New cutting-edge silicone moldable optics' unique properties are enabling new and more sophisticated designs within the LED lamp and luminaire industry. Until now, polarizers have been limited by thermal properties that absorb large amounts of unfiltered light. By working with local experts in moldable optics, SVL has been able to apply Dow Corning's work in silicone-based technology to its latest linear high-power (LHP) Line Scan Light. The LHP Line Scan Light is the world's brightest and most powerful industrial line-scan light on the market at greater than 5 million lux and is also the only line-scan light to offer polarization. Nobel Prize Winner's LED Innovations Chronicled in Brilliant!

Shuji Nakamura's innovations in LED engineering are chronicled in the 2007 book Brilliant! Shuji Nakamura and the Revolution in Lighting Technology by author Bob Johnstone. In light of Nakamura's recently awarded Nobel Prize for the creation of blue light-emitting diodes, the book has been updated and re-released. To read an excerpt of Nakamura's accomplishments and work on gallium nitride, GaN-on-GaN LED technology, and the founding of the start-up Soraa, click here
