S75 Brick Light Featured in RC Car Racing Project
Smart Vision Lights' S75 Brick LightŪ is featured in a YouTube video illustrating how analog electronics and image analysis can be integrated into controls to create an autonomous driving system with remote controlled cars. The project uses the S75 Brick LightŪ, which has six high-output, high-current LEDs in a small housing. The light includes an integrated constant current driver with a built-in strobe input with options for PNP or NPN trigger control. Watch the video here.

Are Your LED Lights Safe? Wider Use of Brighter LED Lights Increases Importance of IEC62471
Smart Vision Lights' article on LED light safety and the importance of being IEC62471 compliant, written by SVL's director of engineering Matt Pinter, was recently featured in Quality Magazine's January 2015 issue. Manufacturers of products containing LEDs know that governments around the world require their products to be tested to guarantee that UV and IR light output does not exceed safety levels outlined in international standard IEC62471. What they may not know is that products bearing CE, UL, CCC, or other national marks that do not have documented proof of IEC62471 compliance can be confiscated, even from customer installations; excluded from sale within the country; and the manufacturer fined. A recent challenge solved with Smart Vision Lights involved Inspection of plastic quart-sized motor oil bottles for streak defects. The goal was to image the bottles clearly to determine if there were any streak defects. A linear light was used with good results. Click here for more information.
