Strobe: A New Era for LEDs and Machine Vision Lighting
MULTI-DIE LED ARRAYS LEAD TO A NEW ERA OF STROBE LIGHTS.
Article by SVL Director of Engineering, Matt Pinter featured in December issue of Quality Magazine
Multi-die LED arrays are changing LED strobe lights. A multi-die array LED product can contain 50 to 100 LEDs on a single housing. Using hundreds of small high power LEDs or multi-die LED arrays in a strobe light output, it can outperform existing high output lights including halogen, metal halide and even xenon flash lamps. New Product Announcement: LED Fluorescent Replacement Linear Light
The LHF300 Series of lights was designed as a direct LED replacement for standard fluorescent lighting and provides a homogeneous output. The plug n' play design of the Direct-Connect Linear Light Series gives users tremendous flexibility without the concern for additional wiring. The LHF300 array utilizes 30 high intensity LEDs and features a diffuse lens cover designed to disperse the light in the same fashion as a fluorescent light of equivalent length and provides an even distribution.

The Machine Vision Market: What to Expect in 2014
At the beginning of 2013, the machine vision industry was feeling good about its prospects for the coming year, even after experiencing a slowdown in the latter half of 2012 due in part to uncertainty over the presidential election in the U.S. and a cooling manufacturing environment. "Based on surveys of our members, we see an optimistic outlook about the economy and North American manufacturing, which indicates a likely return to growth in 2013," Jeff Burnstein, president of AIA, the industry's trade group, said in a news release posted in March. So, was this optimism warranted? To read the rest of the article click here.
