"You Must See What I See" (1 of 5)
How can he love her?
I cannot believe that she even gives him the time of day!
How can those parents possibly think their baby is beautiful?
Who would want to live there?
Persons who do not have the same level of understanding as persons they are referring to, have such questions and comments.
The old proverb still rings true: "Beauty is in the eye of the beholder".
Unless one has, the same level of love, compassion, understanding, and sees the person of discussion as the one who appreciates them; their beauty is not seen.

"You Must See What I See"
Such is the case in Luke 7:44 NIV-Then he (Jesus) turned toward the woman and said to Simon, "Do you see this woman?
In essence, Jesus was saying to Simon the Pharisee, I know you visibly see her physically.
I know that you know of her as described in v. 37-A woman in that town who lived a sinful life.
I know you know of witnesses who can very well validate this description of her.
Simon, I know that in your eyes she does not have worth.
I know you see someone who is a hopeless candidate of change.
I know, I know, I know that you have concluded that she is a waste of time, air and space.
However, Simon, "You Must See What I See" in order for you to see her worth, that she is more than what her lifestyle has been or is even now.
"You Must See What I See" to know that she is a woman whom I love and readily embrace.
|
"You Must See What I See"
"You Must See What I See" in order for you to treat her even now with respect, be willing to be patient with her, to encourage and to embrace her.
"You Must See What I See" in order to see and appreciate her beauty, gifts and talents.
You must look through My eyes, which sees her heart!
This is the same message that Jesus is saying to us today.
Whether it is family, friends, co-workers, neighbors, associates, etc. who we are quick to write-off and
discard from our lives, Jesus is saying, "You Must See What I See".
Yes, on our own, it is difficult if not impossible; to love certain persons, as Jesus would like for us to.
This is why we must pray that He anoints our hearts and eyes with His love for them.
While, each person must be determined to better his or her own life with wiser decisions and actions, it is
also the responsibility of us around them not to hinder or discourage them from those possibilities.
|
"You Must See What I See"
We hinder people by not speaking an encouraging word, extending to them the help within our power, by not being patient with them, etc.
Yes, we each have responsibility in how we affect others, which affects both our immediate world and the world at large.
When we are judgmental of people, we become self-righteous and overrate how we view ourselves.
Rom. 12:3- Don't think you are better than you really are. Be honest in your evaluation of yourselves, (NLT)
When we are judgmental of others, we forget from whence we have come, the many changes we had to
overcome and yet are overcoming and the overall transformation that it took to reposition our lives from sin and shame to where our lives are today.
|
"You Must See What I See"
Just as other people were patient with us and LOVINGLY nurtured us to the standard of being who we are today, so must we be and do with others.
We must pass the "Torch of Love and Encouragement" and emphasize their worth to those who don't see themselves as being such people.
We must communicate the "Power to Change" message, which one experiences through the love, Word and blood of Jesus Christ.
Remember, as Followers of Jesus Christ, our Kingdom charge is; "You Must See What I See" in order to
love, honor and serve others as I, Jesus, desire of you.
God bless you.
