                             Stop Laughing!!!      (1 of 5)

Because of the uniqueness of our individual personalities, there will be different reactions from people in the same situation.

One might cry, sigh, yell, talk uncontrollably-(jabber), laugh, etc.

We sometimes forget that we need to allow people to express themselves as the situation impacts them and not try to insist that they respond the way we react.

However, if their response is unhealthy and destructive, sensitively giving loving, humble and constructive input will be necessary.

Reactions of disbelief and doubtful laughter of what God speaks that He will do and what we will experience in our lives are a couple of unhealthy and destructive responses.

We might laugh because what the Lord says seems so far-fetch, unbelievable and impossible. We conclude, certainly He did not mean me.

  Stop  Laughing!!!   (2 of 5)

Examples: God says we will be healed when the doctor says there is no cure.

Promised victory in our challenged relationships: professionally, financially, emotionally, etc.

Success in business ventures, obtaining school degrees, becoming parents in our golden years, etc., all might seem to be impossible in the natural.

Even though our initial reaction is one of nervous laughter, there comes a time when we must "STOP LAUGHING" and really listen to and believe God.

Such as in the case of Sarah in

            Gen. 18:
10 (NLT)... your wife, Sarah, will have a son!"...
11 Abraham and Sarah were both very old by this time, and Sarah was long past the age of having children.

12 So she laughed silently to herself and said, "How could a worn-out woman like me

enjoy such pleasure, especially when my master-my husband-is also so old?"

Stop Laughing!!!    (3 of 5)

Gen. 18:13 Then the LORD said to Abraham, "Why did Sarah laugh? Why did she say, 'Can an old woman like me have a baby?'

         14
Is anything too hard for the LORD?

...15 Sarah was afraid, so she denied it, saying, "I didn't laugh." But the LORD said, "No, you did laugh."

Sarah laughing within herself
was not a laughter of faith, but a laughter of doubting and distrust.

There is nothing hidden before the Lord.

We might live very differently if we remember that God hears and knows everything we think and say.

God responded by dealing with her sin of unbelief, but not by taking away the promise.

If we are faithless, He remains faithful... (2 Tim. 2:13). (Guzik)

The great challenge, which, Sarah could not overcome, was her age.

I am waxed old - And past child-bearing in a course of nature, especially having been hitherto

barren, which magnifies the difficulty, My lord is old also. (Benson)

         Stop Laughing!!!   (4 of 5)

Is there anything too hard for the Lord?

Thankfully not, and God can triumph even over our weak faith. (Guzik)

Gen. 17:
17-Then Abraham ...laughed to himself in disbelief.
However,Abraham's laugh didn't seem to be one of cynical doubt, but of rejoicing in something he

knew was impossible by all outward appearance, but that God could perform. ...

he did not consider his own body, ... and the deadness of Sarah's womb.

He did not waver at the promise of God through unbelief, but was strengthened in faith, giving glory

to God, and being fully convinced that what He had promised He was also able to perform.
 (Rom. 4:17-21) (Guzik)
Believe and Trust God's Promises Gen. 21:1-The LORD kept His word and did for Sarah exactly what He had promised.

2 She became pregnant and gave birth to a son for Abraham in his old age. This happened at just the time God had said it would.

          3
And Abraham named their son Isaac.

       Stop Laughing!!!     (5 of 5)

Our initial reaction might be to laugh and not believe what the Spirit of God speaks to our hearts.

We may even ask Him "ARE YOU TALKING TO ME????"

When The Lord confirms that He is speaking to us and promising that very impossible event shall come

to pass, it is time to STOP LAUGHING.

stop When we cannot figure out how it will happen, but God says it will, it is time to STOP LAUGHING.

If we know accordingly to the natural scope of events that we are tooooo old and yet we get God's

Word, it is time to STOP LAUGHING and take seriously, what thus says the Lord.

Therefore, STOP LAUGHING at the dreams, visions, desires and promises which the Spirit of God places in your heart.

God bless you.

WORDS FROM THE HEART!!!

Subject: Re: Control Your Power! Hey Dr. Lewis: thank you for the words of wisdom for this week.  Oh yes this tongue is very important to watch.  A lot of times we just talk without thinking and things come out of our mouths you would not believe!  We hurt people without even thinking about it.  This is a real good subject for us to think on all the time. Love you lot's !  V L

What a thoughtful and heartfelt message. Thank you Dr. Lewis for always being an inspiration to myself and others. I look forward to seeing what God will be doing with you next year. Merry Christmas. Be blessed always. H R

Subject: THE BENEFITS OF FAITH- Thanks Dr. T. I enjoyed reading about Faith. We know it is impossible to please God without it. I don't see something but I believe God for it. Thanks for all your research for so many good articles. You are Loved. R. S.

Subject: Re: What's the Use of Serving God? Hey Dr. Lewis: This is really something!  Without God We would not even be here! When you think about how you breath, how you move, how you even have a body.  Where in the world do people think the world came from, and don't they know that this is not the end of life?  We will live on after this somewhere?  It is so sad that they can't see the Lord in all of this! Evangelist V L

Merry Christmas Dr. Lewis, Thank you for this article of The Benefits of Faith. My faith sometimes is weak especially since I've been laid off from work for 2 yrs. I try to remind myself that I am blessed!! I have a roof over my head, food, clothes, family and friends. I have to remind myself that it could be worst! But, on some days I worry and have a pity party....why me, Lord! I get tired of looking for work, I ask the Lord what does He want me to do....all I want to do is His will! I am doing my best to trust in God with patience and faith and know that this to shall come to past. I'm praying that 2016 will be the year of miracles...I Love you Dr. Lewis, F M

Hey Dr. Lewis: Faith, something we must have even to believe God is real. We know He is real because we can feel Him in our hearts moving and telling us how to live and move.  He is real. Faith keeps us going when we can't see what's in front of us and we don't know which way to turn. We have to hold on to faith! L V
