THE BENEFITS OF FAITH (1 of 5)

Let's recharge our faith by reflecting on the NLT version of

Heb. 11:1 Faith is the confidence that what we hope for will actually happen; it gives us assurance about things we cannot see.

(Faith can override and cancel ACTUAL facts.)

                          6 And it is impossible to please God without faith. Anyone who wants to come to Him must believe that God exists and that He rewards those who sincerely seek him.

      (If we don't believe the great existence of God, we won't have faith in Him.)

                         7 It was by faith that Noah built a large boat to save his family from the flood. He obeyed God, who warned him about things that had never happened before.

THE BENEFITS OF FAITH (2 of 5)

Let's recharge our faith by reflecting on the NLT version of:

         Heb. 11:17 It was by faith that Abraham offered Isaac as a sacrifice when God was testing him...
               19 Abraham reasoned that if Isaac died, God was able to bring him back to life again...

                      (Faith will make us step out in obedience and trust God's power, promises, love and faithfulness.)

               22 It was by faith that Joseph, when he was about to die, said confidently that the people of Israel would leave Egypt.

              He even commanded them to take his bones with them when they left.

                           (Faith will even outlive our natural lives and enable us to keep on believing even as we close our earthly eyes.

We will know that we can safely leave our faith in the hands of Daddy-God)

THE BENEFITS OF FAITH (3 of 5)

Let's recharge our faith by reflecting on the NLT version of

        Heb. 11:23 It was by faith that Moses' parents hid him for three months... They saw that God had given them an unusual child, and they were not afraid to disobey the king's command.

      (Because Moses' family had faith in God, they dismissed fear of the king and partnered with God.)

                24 It was by faith that Moses, when he grew up, refused to be called the son of Pharaoh's daughter.
               25 He chose to share the oppression of God's people instead of enjoying the fleeting pleasures of sin.

                26 He thought it was better to suffer for the sake of Christ than to own the treasures of Egypt, for he was looking ahead to his great reward.

          (Without faith, we will not forego and reject the obviously manifested-but temporary "privileges" of being called the son (or daughter) of the Pharaoh's daughter.

           With faith, we will choose even the unseen, but permanent benefits of being called the sons or daughters of God.)

THE BENEFITS OF FAITH (4 of 5)

Let's recharge our faith by reflecting on the NLT version of

            Heb. 11:29 It was by faith that the people of Israel went right through the Red Sea as though they were on dry ground.

               (Our faith will determine if we will yield ourselves in humble obedience. Without faith, the Israelites would have never stepped into the Sea.

             Their faith overpowered their fear of the possibility of the water drowning them as it returned to, as they knew, its natural formation.)

11 It was by faith that even Sarah was able to have a child, though she was barren and was too old. She believed that God would keep His promise.

          (Sarah's "developed faith" eliminated her original doubt of not trusting that God had both the power and plan to manifest the "impossibility" of her pregnancy at an "old age".)

             32 How much more do I need to say? It would take too long to recount the stories of the faith of Gideon ...David, Samuel, and all the prophets.

        33 By faith these people overthrew kingdoms...and received what God had promised them. They shut the mouths of lions,

              34 quenched the flames of fire, and escaped death by the edge of the sword. ...

THE BENEFITS OF FAITH (5 of 5)

Up to now-we have focused on the blessings of having faith.

However, faith will also usher us into some difficult experiences.

Hebrews 11:35 ...But others were tortured, refusing to turn from God in order to be set free...

         36 Some were jeered at, and their backs were cut open with whips. Others were chained in prisons.

              37 Some died by stoning, some were sawed in half, and others were killed with the sword.

Some went about ...destitute and oppressed and mistreated.

              27 It was by faith that Moses left the land of Egypt, not fearing the king's anger. He kept right on going because he kept his eyes on the Invisible One.

Where Is Your Focus?

This 27th verse is the key and the only way for us to live in faith of the Invisible God and to trust Him even when we don't understand His plan for our lives.

Therefore, whether we experience the blessings or the pains of faith, it is worthwhile both now and later to have faith in God.

Love Dr Tonya Lewis and the ministries that God blessed her with. The one that helped me fight drug addiction and grow in Christ was her Overcomers class. My Uncle Howard Eddings (my mom's bro) was also a part of the Overcomers class, when I was younger. He was like the coolest unck. God uses us in a variety and creative ways. We are having super good weather. Lot of rain this month All is good. Thanks for the newsletter all the nice pictures from the retreat. When something is good people can't wait until the next event. I believe whatever you do God has His hand on it and it can't help but to be good. I like the guys in prison enjoy you keeping in touch with them. You make people feel special and show so much love. I feel it all the way here I am so thankful for you. I don't always respond back because I know you will and you are a busy person.
