The Importance of Submission

Submission is to be subject to, surrender or yield one's self to another. 

Imagine how the world would be if submission was constantly the interaction of humanity.  

Submission to God and to one another would provide the environment of love, peace, respect and honor, which most people desire to experience.

God's original plan for humanity was for us to experience respect, love, peace and humility, not self-centeredness, selfish desires and demands, which were ushered in by sin. 

No one can demand a true spirit of submission from others, but each of us must individually yield it willingly to make a difference in our interactions.  

Submission must be experienced for us to love one another, as love must be experienced for us to submit one to another.

Submission both to God and to one another creates a Heavenly experience on Earth. 

It actually duplicates the example of what God, our Heavenly Father, has demonstrated to humanity.  

Daddy-God submitted Himself to His love for mankind. 

This birthed His plan for man's salvation, renewed fellowship and the assurance of eternal life with Him.  

Jesus on the Cross Thank you Jesus

Jesus' submission to both His Father's Plan and humanity's need for salvation, provoked Him to come down and reside on earth, 

       sacrificing His Heavenly existence for at least 33 ½ years. 

Jesus' submission led Him to live among men who many rejected and still reject His ultimate Calvary sacrifice. 

The Holy Spirit submits Himself to humanity by offering the teaching and power of how to live a holy life style, have fellowship with 

        the Father, and to rest with the assurance of eternal life.

1 Pet 5:5 NLT-..."God opposes the proud but favors the humble."

Therefore, before we can submit to one another and have power against Satan who tempts us to think of ourselves more highly than

                we should, 'we must embrace James 4:7 "Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you."

                In order for Daddy-God's power to be ignited in our lives, for Satan to be deemed powerless against us and for us to be Overcomers, we must first submit ourselves to God. 

Submission to God means that we yield ourselves to His Wisdom, Direction and Plan for our lives.  

       This will be reflected as Eph 5:21- NLT-And further, submit to one another out of reverence for Christ.  

           Rom. 14:19- Let us therefore make every effort to do what leads to peace and to mutual edification.

Gal 5:13- NLT-For you have been called to live in freedom, my brothers and sisters. But don't use your freedom to satisfy your sinful

     nature. Instead, use your freedom to serve one another in love.  


Phil. 2:3-NLT-Don't be selfish; don't try to impress others.

       Be humble, thinking of others as better than yourselves. (This means instead of fixing your eyes on those points in which you excel,

         fix them on those in which your neighbor excels you: this is true "humility." (Jamieson-Fausset-Brown) 

1 Pet. 2:15- NLT-It is God's will that your honorable lives should silence those ignorant people who make foolish accusations against you.

Because we are the Temple of the Living God and have been entrusted with various gifts and mandates, submission does not imply that we

      do not set boundaries or that we accept various forms of abuse.

Gal. 2:4 KJ- And that because of false brethren unawares brought in, who came in privily to spy out our liberty which we have in Christ Jesus, that they might bring us into bondage: 

       5-NLT-But we refused to give in to them for a single moment. We wanted to preserve the truth of the Gospel message for you. 

However, in so doing, we are to adhere to Rom. 12:18- KJ-If it be possible, as much as lieth in you, live peaceably with all men.

            NLT-Do all that you can to live in peace with everyone.    Be at peace, seek after peace, pursue it, and cultivate it with all men (Gill).

Daddy-God's mandate for us is to submit ourselves to Him and to one another. By so doing we will usher blessings into our lives. 

Submitting will not enslave or belittle us, but will exalt us. It is geared to enable us to reflect the image of our Heavenly Father and 

     to demonstrate love and honor one for another.
