It must be my way, what I desire and when I want it!

No, I do not have to give you anything in exchange for it because I need it and you don't.

I deserve it no matter what you say!

Oh, it cost you something.

image man with puzzled expression

I did not say thank you, because duh, you should know that I think that.

Well, you have the resources to buy it and I don't! I do not come from the kind of family that has "everything" like you do!

I don't have the kind of employment that you do!

I don't know the people who you know!

This list of disadvantages of what one does not have or is suffering is endless in their minds.

Also to them, it is justifiable and reasonable thinking.

A different line of thought is; how can this interaction be a win-win situation for both of us?

I realize that you are blessed with what I need.

Which One Are You?    (2 of 5)

Thank you for being willing to give it to me!

While I cannot repay you or match what you are doing, I would like to offer "this" to you!

I realize that I am blessed to have such a person as you in my life.

Both lines of thought for the most part describe man's mentality and define us as either "Givers or Takers"!

Givers realize that whatever is done for them deserves at least a sincere thank you and the spirit of appreciation.

Even though Givers freely share, Takers do not take the time to realize that whatever is given to them lessens the Givers' resources.

Givers will receive because they give of themselves, resources, time, favor, etc.!

Givers will be blessed because they realize that it is not all about them and that God has blessed them to be Givers.

Givers maturely realize and acknowledge that nothing is free and that somewhere down the line, there is a cost or sacrifice on someone's part.

While we are blessed because of God's favor extended to us, it doesn't excuse us from being grateful and expressing gratitude.

Which One Are You?   (3 of 5)

A lack of thankfulness lessens our opportunities of continued blessings.

For after a while, their Givers will desire to deposit their resources in win-win situations.

Being pleasant, kind, soft-spoken, grace-seasoned and sharing, your abilities are ways of expressing a thankful spirit.

Takers have the spirit of entitlement meaning: the condition of having a right to have, do, or get something: the feeling or belief that you deserve to be given something (such as special privileges) (Merriam-Webster).
confused 2

Oddly, Takers don't understand why problems eventually crop up in their interactions with Givers.

Jesus gave up His residence in Heaven for at least 33 and 1/2 years.

His gave His life on the Cross of Calvary.

He gave away His self-respect and power, only to name a few.

He gave those things for you and me.

The very least we can do is acknowledge this Great Giver's sacrifice and say thank you Lord, I praise you Lord, I magnify your holy name!

We must recognize that Jesus gave to afford us the eternal experience of Heaven, as well as a taste of it while we still live on earth.

Jesus gave because He knew the Father would be pleased and we, His people, would have opportunities of joy, peace and deliverances.

God's Word informs us: Prov.18:16-NLT-Giving a gift can open doors; it gives access to important people!

Heb. 5:9- WNT -... Giver of eternal salvation.

Let's seek to be like our Daddy-God.

Let's seek to make our interactions with others a win-win situation for both sides!

Let's ask Daddy-God to help us to mature and to treat others as they should be treated, especially when they are extending kindnesses to us!

praying 1

Let's practice being thankful! 1 Thes. 5:18-NLT- Be thankful in all circumstances, for this is God's will for you...

Col.2:7- NLT-...you will overflow with thankfulness.

Acts 24:3-NLT- For all of this, ...we are very grateful to you.

So, say Thank you when someone opens a door for us!

Thank you when they offer us from their resources, etc., etc., etc.

Remember, Givers reflect the spirit of Jesus in their lives and self-centered, selfish takers reflect the spirit of Satan. God bless.

Words from the Heart!

hearts 4 red ones on a string

Thank you Dr. Lewis. We've never met. You've seen me post here and there along the way. Stepping out to say Happy Birthday means a lot to me. I admire your effort to bring positive to our experience on the net.

God bless!!! Thank you.

Hey Dr. Lewis:  This is a very true statement "IF I HAD ONLY KNOWN".  We need to be very mindful of what we say and do toward others!  We can do or say things that hurt and when something happens to that person, it will stay with you for the rest of your life, just as it was said If I Had Only Known!  I hope and pray that I can do and say what I am supposed to say and do to my loved ones and even to my enemies what is good and pleasing to God!  You have a blessed day and thanks for sharing with me it means a lot. love you lot's!  V L

Thanks Dr. T.  I can't say enough how much I love and appreciate you. So true the saying, "live each day as it is your last one". I want to do all the good I can do as long as I can. God sure gives you good thinking messages for me. Thanks with all my heart. Please stay encourage with all you have gone through and are going through. I know the pressure is on you because you have so many leaning and depending on you. Much love. R S

Things worthy of a good report are to be acknowledged and appreciated. If God's people were as enthusiastic about sharing with one another in environments, where there is the greatest need we'd be all the more effective in touching those who are yet to be convinced of Messiah. You're at it everyday as far as I can see. I take notice and although I'm already a Confessor your posts add to the strength of my commitment to it. Thank you again. A Brother

Subject: Re: If Only I Had Known!
Awesome message, Dr. Lewis! This is what Elder Lawrence Blake talked about in his message: You are always giving and encouraging. Well, you are truly loved and so appreciated.  I personally appreciate you and will be here to support you in any way possible. May God continue to encourage your heart. I pray for your parents that God will keep them well in their body and mind. I hope Daddy God will give them long life and good health. Sending you lots of hugs.Love you. J G
