There's Just No Excuse Not to Be....! (1 of 5)
Employees who desire to advance on their jobs understand that they must demonstrate skills and make productive contributions in order to be well pleasing to their employers.
Students who are serious about their education realize that they must put forth effort, study and sacrifice in order to make the Dean's list and to acquire those "A" grades.
Such also is the case in the Kingdom of God.
In order to excel in favor with God, we must first believe in and ask Jesus Christ His beloved Son, to come into our hearts and to be our Lord and Savior.
Then, there must be the life-long decision and actions to seek and do His will as found in His Word and as directed by His Spirit.
Without having Jesus as Lord of our lives, no works we do on our own, will place us in right standing with God.

There's Just No Excuse Not to Be....! (2 of 5)
However, the Bible repeatedly informs us that we must do works for the intent and accomplishment to be pleasing to the Lord.
No, our efforts of obedience and seeking to be well pleasing to the Lord are not in vain!
What is in vain is not putting forth effort to obey God's Word and thinking that we will be in good standing with Him.
Our heart's desire must be as Jesus expressed in John 4:34- NLT-Then Jesus explained: "My nourishment comes from doing the will of God, who sent me, and from finishing His work.
Jesus was stating, My food, that which satisfies my strongest desire and quenches all other desires, is that I may do continuously the will of Him that sent me on my mission to this people and to this world.
"Lo, I come to do thy will, O God," which was the motto and burden of Jesus' life. "Not my will, but thine," (Pulpit Comm.).

John 9:4- NLT-We must quickly carry out the tasks assigned us by the One who sent us. The night is coming, and then no one can work.
Gal. 6:10- Therefore, as we have opportunity, let us do good to all people, especially to those who belong to the Family of Believers.
Matthew 20:4- He told them, 'You also go and work in my vineyard, and I will pay you whatever is right.
Gal. 6:7- You will always harvest what you plant.
John 12:26b-And the Father will honor anyone who serves me.
Luke 2:14b-NIV-"...peace to those on whom His favor rests." NLT- "... peace on earth to those with whom God is pleased.
Through the birth of Jesus Christ, the peace of God and with God and others is available to those who have submitted and continue to submit their lives and wills to the Lord Jesus Christ. (Gill)

There's Just No Excuse Not to Be....! (4 of 5)
We have God's favor. This is so liberating since we live in constant turmoil, trouble, chaos, fear and disorder.
Yes, there are benefits (gifts) of living to please God in how we think, through our actions, how we talk to one another, in the sacrifices we make to serve Him and one another, etc.
Phil. 2:12b- Work hard to show the results of your salvation, obeying God with deep reverence and fear.
V.13- For God is working in you, giving you the desire and the power to do what pleases Him.
God works in us a will to that which is spiritually good, for we have no natural will to come to Christ or to have Him reign over us.
We have no natural desire, nor hungering and thirsting after His righteousness and salvation.
God works upon our stubborn and inflexible wills and without any force to them makes our souls willing to be saved by Christ, to submit to His righteousness and to do His will. (Gill)

There's Just No Excuse Not to Be..! (5 OF 5)
God sweetly and powerfully draws us with the cords of love to Himself and to His Son.
He so influences us by His grace and spirit, which He continues to do so, that our wills freely desires everything spiritually good and for the glory of God.
God therefore implants in us principles of action to work from, as faith and love, and a regard for His glory.
He also gives us grace and strength to work with, for without, we can do nothing.
However, having these, we can do all things and all this is "of His good pleasure" (Gill)
Therefore, since Daddy-God works in us to do His will and to be well pleasing to Him, let us just do so!
Remember, "There's Just No Excuse Not to Be....!"

Hey Dr. Lewis: What a Word for the week! It is so very true Our Cup Runneth Over!!!!!!!!! I for one know I have a testimony and know that the Lord God Our Father did it! What a blessing just to have Him as Father and King! Thanks for sharing with me. Love you lot's! Evangelist V L

Excuses!!! Romans 2:1- New Living Translation You may think you can condemn such people, but you are just as bad, and you have no excuse! When you say they are wicked and should be punished, you are condemning yourself, for you who judge others do these very same things.
Excuses!!! Romans 1:20- New Living Translation For ever since the world was created, people have seen the earth and sky. Through everything God made, they can clearly see his invisible qualities--his eternal power and divine nature. So they have no excuse for not knowing God.
Excuses!!! Luke 14:18-20 ESV But they all alike began to make excuses. The first said to him, 'I have bought a field, and I must go out and see it. Please have me excused.'
