No Matter Our Location! (1 of 5)
We can accomplish great works in our present situations and locations!
Yes, even "There", we can be effective and make a difference!
We can enlighten, spark hope, joy and assurance in our circles of influence!
Such was the case of the beloved Apostle John.
He was exiled (deported, sentenced and cast away) to the island of Patmos, (Rev. 1:9).
"Patmos" was unable to produce offspring; infertile, free from living plants or their parts (not producing or bearing seeds), fruit and lacking inspiration or vitality. (Collins).
It was a small, rocky barren island nearly 60 miles from the city of Ephesus.
Patmos was home to many political and religious prisoners or slaves.
At this time, John was close to the end of his life, being well over 90 years old.
This perhaps made him the only apostle to survive to such an old age as the rest of Jesus' Apostles and Disciples were martyred decades earlier.

No Matter Our Location! (2 of 5)
The Roman emperor was angry at the fact that John was not killed when he was dipped in boiling oil.
It was as if God supernaturally preserved John to bare record of The Revelation! (Ellis Skolfield)
Although the Apostle John was later released from the island of Patmos, he was sentenced there because of his love and unwavering testimony of our Lord Jesus Christ.
It was believed that this sentence would silence his voice.
However, John was committed to fulfilling his purpose in life of preaching the Word of God, which is the life line of change and hope for all people of all times!
We can't fully imagine the agony of John's experience on Patmos, being away from family, friends and the familiarity of the comforts of life.
However, John received and left on record the Biblical book of Inspiration and Joy for believers: the Book of Revelations.

No Matter Our Location! (3 of 5)
This is a revelation from Jesus Christ, which God gave him to show His servants the events that must soon take place.
He sent an angel to present this revelation to His servant John. (Rev 1:1)
What Nuggets can we learn from John's situation?
1) Out of John's great agony came God's great revelation.
2) We each have an obligation to both God and man to fulfill our assignment in life.
3) We must be so committed to our relationship with God that we are willing to suffer the consequences for it.
4) We must focus our attention on loving and desiring to so please God which will maintain our focus to the end; no matter where it lands us!
5) Daddy-God will sustain us no matter where we are cast away from or to because of our stead-fast love for Him.

What Nuggets can we learn from John's situation?
6) He will enable us to yet be effective and impact the lives of others for good.
7) The greater the calling, the greater the sacrifice which will result in the greater of the remembrance of our lives!
8) We cannot allow anything to be used as an excuse to prevent us from obeying "Our Assignment".
9) Even when we are in deplorable situations, Daddy-God is yet with us and will provide for us.
10) He has equipped us to adapt to, survive in and make good come out of any situation that attempts to silence our voices on His behalf.
Thus, we are reminded to not be over-whelmed with self-pity, crying and wishing our experiences and locations were different.
They are not!! Therefore, we must do what we must do, where we are currently!
For, whether it is an emotional Patmos or a physical Patmos, God has a mission for us, yes, even "There"!

Thus, we must allow Him to reveal His Glory to us even now, so that His glory will shine through us.
Just like Daddy-God did not release the Apostle John from his assignment because of his unfortunate location; neither will Daddy release us from our assignment.
We must yet use our talents and abilities to plant positive fruit.
We must yet say yes to the Lord and be found doing what He has commanded us to do; no matter where we are located.
We must evaluate our lives by asking; am I being effective where I am or more so feeling sorry for myself?
Am I glorifying God in my current situation and location?
Will I be remembered for the good that I did rather than the bad?
No Matter what and No Matter where; we must be effective and fulfill our assignments!
