Amaze HIM and He Will Amaze YOU!! ( 1 of 5)
A powerful story is told in
Luke 7:2-...the highly valued slave of a Roman officer was sick and near death.
3-When the officer heard about Jesus, he sent some respected Jewish elders to ask Him to come and heal his slave.
4-So they earnestly begged Jesus to help the man. "If anyone deserves Your help, he does,"
6-So Jesus went with them. But just before they arrived at the house, the officer sent some friends to say, "Lord, don't trouble Yourself by coming to my home, for I am not worthy of such an honor.
7-I am not even worthy to come and meet You. Just say the word from where You are, and my servant will be healed. 9-When Jesus heard this, He was amazed. Turning to the crowd that was following Him, He said, "I tell you, I haven't seen faith like this in all Israel!" (NLT)

The word "faith," here, means "confidence" or belief that Christ had power to heal his servant. (Barnes).
This must be understood of Christ as man; for as God, nothing could present itself unto Him not known before.
However, Jesus marveled at the man; at his great humility, modesty, the strength of his faith and his manner of reasoning.
Jesus said I have not found so great faith, no not in Israel: "among the children of Israel".
This is to be understood, not of the patriarchs, prophets and other famous believers, which were in Israel formerly; but of the men of the then present generation. (Gill)

We should live in absolute faith that our Lord has EVERY SITUATION under control when we are involved.
HOWEVER, that truth does not exempt us from experiencing difficult times!
But it gives us hope and assurance that if we just practice what we have been taught, to trust, rest, believe and have confidence
in the Lord Jesus; that we will also "Amaze" Jesus.
In other words, we will honor and exalt Him above any problem that we face.
For every situation we encounter, we have been prepared beforehand to overcome it and to have faith and peace in the midst of it.
DEFINITELY, the Lord has not brought us this far or rescued us so many times before to let go of us now!
Unfortunately, as is so often the case, when there is an emergency, we freeze up and forget the techniques of natural, emotional and spiritual survival.

There are two cases in the Lord's history where He is said to have marveled; here and in Mark 6:6.
In one case Jesus marvels at the faith of a Gentile; in the other at the unbelief of the Jews. (People's New Testament).
We don't EVER want to "disappoint" Jesus (using man's terms) by not trusting in Him and not remembering WHAT HE HAS ALREADY DONE FOR US.
Neither do we want to dishonor how He has already shown Himself to be caring, strong and mighty in our other seemingly impossible situations.
Just as we are amazed, happy, honored and appreciative of those who CHOOSE to display loyalty, love and honor toward us;
such is the case with Jesus.
Our Lord Jesus was pleased with the centurion's faith; and JESUS NEVER FAILS TO answer the expectations of that faith which honors His power and love. (Matthew Henry)

Thus, we are told in Luke 7:10-And when the officer's friends returned to his house, they found the slave completely healed.
WHEN WE AMAZE JESUS, HE ALWAYSSSSSSSSSSSSS AMAZES US!
Our unwavering, unshakable and undoubting faith in His love for us will move Him to do the "AMAZING" in our lives!
We also need to note that the character, reputation, deeds and good name of the slave was a major factor in motivating the
respected Elders to beg Jesus on his behalf.
We want to live our lives so that both man and Jesus will be AMAZED BY US AND WILL SEEK TO AMAZE US BY acting on
our behalf as though they were acting on their own!!!

Subject: Re: RUN! FLEE FOR YOUR LIFE!!! Hey Dr. Lewis: Thanks for the wonderful words of comfort and wisdom. I know how this thing works. We knew a rich man and his family and it was a mess of all messes! This man was young and got his money from when his father passed away and when he did he was spending with both hands and messing it up on more things then he needed. Now he has nothing! He would not listen to the Word of God. He said he knew he was wrong for not listening but he was going to do it the way he saw fit! Well, as I said he got into all kinds of trouble and now he has nothing! So the Word of God is right. The love of money is the root of all kinds of evil and can make you crazy! You be blessed. Love you lot's! V L
