DON'T MISS YOUR OPPORTUNITY!! (1 of 5)
If we had a dollar for every time proven that we should have made different decisions; if not rich, we would be well on our way!
No, we should not say yes to every command that comes our way!
However, we must realize there are occasions where we must be humble, submit to and obey certain requests.
Obedience always births results; either good or bad, blessings or trouble! This is why we must be careful of those whom we allow to influence our decisions.
Frequently we like to skip to the results Simon Peter experienced in Luke 5:6- ....they caught such a large number of fish that their nets began to break.
However, let's take note of some points which led to Simon's amazing experience.

DON'T MISS YOUR OPPORTUNITY!! (2 of 5)
Luke 5:1-...Jesus was preaching..., great crowds pressed in on Him to listen to the Word of God.
The accommodating of the crowd to hear Jesus teach the Word of God was a Jesus' problem and not directly one for Simon.
However, a true Disciple of Jesus and lover of mankind who learns of challenges for others will either directly or indirectly get involved to assist.
Peter and other skillful fishermen had been out fishing for quite some time; however, they did not catch any fish.
The only results they had for their efforts were dirty equipment, disappointment and a waste of time and resources.
More than likely, this experience did not create a spirit of happiness and cheer for Peter and the others.
Now, in addition to them being exhausted from fruitless efforts; Jesus had the audacity of Luke 5:3- And Jesus...prayed him that he would thrust out a little from the land.
Jesus asked Simon Peter to get back in the situation that had created those unpleasant feelings, created futile memories and wasted his time.

However, unknown to Simon Peter, he was being presented with the opportunity to experience fullness where there had been emptiness and fulfillment where there had been disappointment.
This is why we can't be controlled only by our emotions, experiences or insights.
We must recognize when Jesus asks us either directly or indirectly through others to do anything for Him!
Also, He always rewards our obedience to His appeals.
Jesus is a multi-tasking, multi-attentive and multi-concerned Savior who takes note of each of our individual situations while taking note of others.
He knew of the people's desire to hear the Word of God so He made accommodations to position them in a comfortable fashion to hear and see Him speak.

He was also aware of the disappointment which the men had experienced in their fishing venture.
So Jesus...taught the crowds from there, which implies that Simon and the others, pressed beyond their self-centered, tired, and disappointed feelings and complied with Jesus' wish.
Consequently, although exhausted, they nevertheless gave themselves to serve Jesus.
We must learn that it is not always about us and what we desire!
It is not always how we feel that will govern what happens next and produce our desired results!
It is essential that we live as patient and trusting followers of the Lord God.
For when we do, we can always know that even if not now; our turn shall come.

We learn that Jesus does not forget to enrich our lives, even though His attention might be on enriching others' lives at that time.
Thus, Luke 5:4-When Jesus had finished speaking, He said to Simon, "Now go out where it is deeper, and let down your nets to catch some fish."
Jesus not only told Simon what to do, and where to go, but He also revealed what would be the end result of Simon's obedience.
It was only after Simon's total obedience and rising above all of the excuses He could have given Jesus that Simon moved into his overflow of fish.
We must become so sensitive and trusting of the Lord that we don't miss our moments, seasons and opportunities!
Those times that Jesus is positioning us to experience the over-flowing, mind-blowing and indescribable blessings which the Father has for us!

I was just thinking about you and thought to just say ...THANK YOU....so much for being you for being real...even when you are delivering your messages. I enjoy reading your articles and listening to you speak on youtube. I sort of watch you and really like that you are real with the people (Christians). You tell it like it is ...you relate to the people on their levels, no matter how many different levels are listening. I especially like it when you tell the Christians to STOP TRIPPIN, CHRISTIANS HAVE TO STOP TRIPPIN.....keep on preaching young lady, because there are folks out there like me who are listening, learning and loving what you say.
