What's Your Attitude? (1 of 5)
Sons and Daughters of God are given promises in His Word that are geared to give us hope, joy, faith and peace.
For the most part, the excitement of our relationship in submitting to and serving the Lord is based on the manifestation of
His promises in our lives.
Rightfully so, when we have sickness in our bodies we quote Isaiah 53:5...with His stripes we are healed, which refers to both our
physical and spiritual healing which was provided by the suffering of Jesus Christ.
When we desire certain blessings, we quote Psalms 37:4-Delight thyself also in the LORD; and He shall give thee the desires of thine heart.
However, it must be asked, what is our attitude toward God when our healing or desired blessings don't manifest?

What's Your Attitude? (2 of 5)
Our level of maturity is manifested by how we act when we don't get what we desire and especially when
someone else experiences what we would like to receive.
Because we are quick to quote that God is no Respecter of persons, too often we base our relationship with the Lord
in comparison to His relationship with others.
Then, when we don't receive what they receive, we are disappointed and jealous.
However, the Lord desires that we note His command in
John 21:22b- what is that to you? As for you, follow Me; stated in His response to Peter when he nosily inquired
about Jesus' and John's relationship.
The Lord does not want us following Him for what we can get from Him; but because we love Him.

What's Your Attitude? (3 of 5)
Daddy-God knows the master plan He has for our lives and what it will take to develop us into becoming all that He desires of us.
Therefore, He desires that we trust Him and yet lovingly respond to His non-manifestations of our prayers and desires as
we do when He gives us exactly what we desire.
We are in a personal relationship with the Lord.
Thus, He is in tune with our make-up, background, what we can handle and what will handle us if given to us.
He wants us to say as Paul did in 2 Corinthians 12:8- For this thing I besought the Lord thrice that it might depart from me.
V. 9- And He said unto me, My grace is sufficient for thee: for my strength is made perfect in weakness.
Most gladly therefore will I rather glory in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me.

What's Your Attitude? (4 of 5)
The Lord desires that we understand He deals with us individually so that we will conclude as Paul did in 2 Corinthians 12:7- And lest I should be exalted above measure through the abundance of the revelations, there was given to me a thorn in the flesh, the messenger of Satan to buffet me, lest I should be exalted above measure. Individually, we will not experience the manifestation of all of the promises on this side of Glory; however, we will experience them on the other side of Glory if we live in a committed relationship with the Lord while on earth. The Lord desires that our attitude be as the three Hebrews when they faced the fiery furnace in Daniel 3:17 - If it be [so], our God whom we serve is able to deliver us from the burning fiery furnace, and He will deliver [us] out of thine hand, O king. 18-But even if He doesn't, we want to make it clear to you, Your Majesty that we will never serve your gods or worship the gold statue you have set up." (NLT).

What's Your Attitude? (5 of 5)
So, we must ask ourselves; why am I following Jesus? Is it birthed out of love and commitment or what I can get from Him? What is my attitude when what I have prayed for doesn't manifest?
Have I resolved to allow God's perfect plan be manifested in my life or am I bent on living my life as I desire? Our attitude of love and commitment to God must be that we won't allow anything to separate us from our Lord- not disappointments, times when we don't get what we pray for and desire, times when others are enjoying what we would like to experience, etc. We must be and remain solid in our attitudes to love Jesus NO MATTER WHAT!!

Hey Dr. Lewis: You know this is a real good question and I wondered about that myself a lot. You can tell people about the goodness of the Lord and they act like you are the one that is crazy! I guess they just don't have ears to hear at the time, but I do know it is sad and I am afraid for them! I know that I love Jesus with everything that I am and that is within me! He is my Lord and my God and I hope that those that don't see it that way will come to do so soon! Love you lot's! V L

I have continuously enjoyed your weekly nuggets for the soul and I have passed them along to those who believe in GOD. My family is in need of prayer for strength to get us through this tough time. I have accepted reality... my father is in a better place and he is in his new found home with GOD. I know he Resting in Peace!!!
