At special member meetings hosted around the state April 11 and 17, members of AIA Colorado voted to merge the organizations into one entity. The local sections - AIA Denver, AIA Colorado North, AIA Colorado South and AIA Colorado West - will relinquish their liabilities and administrative duties as stand-alone corporations, but will each maintain their local identity, local leaders, and local programming. In fact, they will now be more empowered to directly address member needs. Read the full press release.

On April 15, more than 30 AIA, AGC and ACEC members gathered at the Denver office of Faegre Baker Daniels (FBD) for a presentation and video conference on two Integrated Project Delivery (IPD) projects in Indiana and Ohio that the law firm is working on. This event was a follow-up on a presentation last year. FBD is conducting research on results from the two projects, including IPD contract aspects that have been successful and those that are still evolving. The AIA/AGC/ACEC Liaison Committee is focused on events that highlight best practices and showcase collaborative efforts in the practices of design and construction. Be sure to check our events calendar for upcoming joint programs.
