AJ Bunker has joined our team as the Volunteer Coordinator.  She has been with the Volunteer Ceneter since January 2013, working with volunteers and developing the use of the HandsOn Connect volunteer database.  She has just over one year of volunteer management experience and will graduate from Grand Valley State University in December with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Public Relations.

Jamie Helsen is the Community Impact Assistant Director and will assume the public policy and income stability work, as well as some health initiatives.  She is a former AmeriCorps member with United Way of the Lakeshore and returned to Muskegon after several years with United Way in Kalamazoo.

Oceana County News -

     Day of Caring Success!

The Oceana County Day of Caring 2013 was a great success!  Mill Pond Park in Ferry Township was the location for this year's event.  About 40 volunteers helped build three large multi-family style picnic tables, laid mulch for the playground equipment that will go in later, and cemented five grills in the ground.  There was a lot of hard work, but there were many hands and plenty of stories and smiles shared.  Thanks to all who came out to help or sent food for the volunteers.
