YOUR GIFT AT WORK -

THE ARC MUSKEGON

The Arc Muskegon Last July, The Arc Muskegon, along with the Regional Inclusive Community Coalition (RICC) Muskegon, hosted a "Picnic with a Purpose." The PURPOSE was to empower people with developmental disabilities to vote, meet local political leaders and candidates and register to vote, if needed.

More than 100 people mixed and mingled, asked candidates questions, learned how to use the AutoMark Voting machine and enjoyed a picnic style lunch.

Advocacy, specifically self advocacy, is the core of our mission. Thanks to the support of the United Way of the Lakeshore, they, too, believe in people with developmental disabilities having equal access to the privilege of voting, voicing an opinion, and putting a face to many issues affecting their lives each day.
