Dear Forklift Fans,
Go get your calendar out - there are SO MANY cool events happening at our warehouse and around town in the next few weeks!
You can: * Enter a design contest ...and so much more! There are also a lot of cool materials coming into our reuse warehouse this time of year. We only send this newsletter out twice a month, so if you want more up-to-date info, just subscribe to our blog, or follow us on social media. For example, these posts were popular in recent weeks:
* We received some nifty old farm crates that would be great for storage and creative projects (folks on our Facebook page went nuts!)
* We announced some fantastic weekend flash sales, including a Mid-Century Modern Sale on August 7-9, and a Half Off Storewide Summer Blowout on August 15th & 16th.
* A Forklift Fan shared a great article about finding and dismantling pallets for use in crafty projects.
If you missed these posts, don't worry, we have more good ones in the works! Plus, you still have 9 more days to save big with our August Specials (just jump to the end for all the details).
See you soon!
Nancy J. Meyer

Attention metal fabricators, woodworkers, tradespeople and upcyclers! Art Lives Here and Community Forklift are issuing TWO design/build challenges this month. One is an Art Lives Here metal sign and the other is a counter top for the incubator gallery.
|

We take the "community" part of Community Forklift seriously. So, on the first Friday of each month this summer, we've been staying open late to throw a party. Please spread the word about the next one:
Admission Cost: FREE!
Come down to the Grand Ole 'Lift for the summer's last Forklift First Friday, featuring tear-in-your beer, classic Honky-Tonk band Rodeo Motel. They'll take you back to the heyday of classic country with their specialized duet harmonies and their fiddle and pedal steel-driven sounds that harken back to the 50's and 60's, when stars like George Jones, Kitty Wells, and Webb Pierce were making history on the Grand Ole Opry.

Town Center Market will be here with their pop-up-bar, with just the right microbrews for all those tears to go in the beers (and wine of course, if that's your thing).
And what honky-tonk would be complete without some good ol' fashioned BBQ? Bill's Backyard BBQ will be joining us as our featured food truck.
So, grab your friends and family, and do-si-do down to the 'Lift for one last summer jam!

First Friday is just the beginning of the fun here on Labor Day weekend.
Tanglewood Works is turning one year old, and boy, do those artists know how to party. If you haven't been into this amazing shop in front of the Forklift warehouse, now is the time!
What better way to commemorate Labor Day than celebrating the one-year anniversary of a local small business - AND celebrating its expansion!
Thanks to all the fantastic support from fans far and wide, as well as the talents of so many local artisans, Tanglewood Works has made it to its One Year Anniversary! Not only that, but thanks to the success of our first year and the high demand for upcycled furniture and artistic instruction, Tanglewood Works is unveiling its new 3,000-foot communal maker space.
To celebrate both of these milestones, we will be hosting an open house at the shop (4641 Tanglewood Drive, just in front of Community Forklift's warehouse) during regular hours Saturday and Sunday, and on 10am - 5pm on Labor Day. We'll be serving up refreshments and 10% off ALL store items.
We will also be having a "Salvager Hunt" where participants can hunt for salvaged items at CF, Tanglewood The Shop and Tanglewood The Studios all weekend long. Turn in all three items and redeem your FREE Upcycled Prize at The Shop or the Studio.

Into old houses or old tools?
You're going to love the Forklift's 2015 fall festival...
On September 12th, we're celebrating all things
vintage, antique, and well-loved.
Wide Selection of Old Tools!
In addition to live music and food trucks, free restoration workshops and info from experts, you'll have a rare opportunity to check out our large selection of antique tools & hardware! (normally sold only online).
| Antiques like these are crucial to the Forklift - the proceeds from rarer and more valuable items make it possible for our nonprofit program to survive! Your purchases help to create good green jobs, reduce waste in the region, and support local community groups and neighbors in need. |
Information & Demos!
Learn about preservation grants, rebates, local restoration companies, and more. We'll have a ton of folks here to share useful info, including:
