It's spring at Community Forklift, and our warehouse is really hopping!
- Our Donations Team is bringing in huge truckloads of building materials each day, keeping all those materials out of the landfill,
- Our Warehouse Team is staying on their toes, organizing, pricing, & stocking literally TONS of materials,
- Our Sales Team is working hard to provide you with the best customer service & answer all your questions,
- Our Outreach & Education Team is reaching out all over town attending spring festivals, keeping you in the loop on our social media, and "Lifting up Communities" through our programs, and
- Our Admin Team is working hard behind the scenes to fill 2 vacant positions!

In addition to all the low-cost building materials we make available to the public at our warehouse, Community Forklift is also now offering:
- Customer Appreciation Days for folks who've dedicated their careers to serving others (see our special sales below),
- Free DIY workshops on select weekends,
- Plant sales throughout May to support our non-profit partners,
- Drop-in Volunteer Days where you can earn community service hours, or just help us out!
- Mini-grants of building materials to non-profit organizations & community groups,
- Free appliances to families in need through our HELP program

Community Forklift is seeking an energetic, detail oriented, mission-driven individual with supervisory experience and excellent people skills to work full-time with our growing green business as a new Retail Sales Supervisor!
Is your dream job a combination of the "Price is Right" and a hardware store? Do you wish you could combine your passion for "all things green" with your immense ability to accurately calculate the prices of obscure hardware, tools and architectural ornaments? Do you astound people with your uncanny ability to rapidly "surf the net" for answers when researching a topic? If yes, you might be the perfect fit for our new Pricing Associate position!

Community Forklift is holding a T-shirt Design Contest!
Designs will be accepted throughout the month of May. We'll be printing a limited-edition run of the winning design created by one thoroughly artistic Forklift Fan. What are you waiting for? Get busy! The winner could be YOU! The winning artist will receive a $100 Community Forklift gift certificate, a fabulous write-up in our monthly newsletter and Facebook, the glory of seeing Forklift Fans all over town wearing your art and, of course, your very own free t-shirt!
Dazzle us with your creativity. Enter as many designs as you please.
Designs can be any type of media including: cut paper, hand-drawn, painted, collage or computer rendered. If using traditional artistic media, please submit a photograph of your art. Electronically created art files should be full-color and supplied as an EPS, JPG or PDF file. The winner will be contacted to supply original art (if hand-drawn or painted, etc) or a high-resolution electronic file for production of the new t-shirts.

Presented by John Lippert, Independent Contractor to Clean Currents and Lead, Greenbelt Neighborhood Energy Challenge
This workshop will help you understand the various programs and labels available to help you select energy-efficient appliances and electronics. We will cover ENERGY STAR, EPEAT, TopTen USA Program, Consumer Reports, EnergyGuide Label, and Lighting Facts. We'll go over the strengths and weaknesses of the various options.

David Shapiro from Safety First Electrical Contracting, Consulting, and Safety Education will teach some elements of D-I-Y electrical safety, and answer whatever questions you want to bring about installation, troubleshooting, repair, etc.

Are you willing to spend a couple hours showing other Forkilft Fans the basics of what you do & how you do it?

Enterprise DC is open to Unemployed and Under-employed District residents, between the ages of 22-54, who have a US Work permit.
