| Minister's Message | |
Dear Friends,
As you read this, our California Pacific Annual Conference is in session at the University of Redlands. This yearly gathering of elected laity and all of the active clergy of our Conference meets in the cool of the air-conditioned chapel at University of Redlands. The business of the Annual Conference includes worship services, reviewing the fiscal, administrative and programmatic business of the Annual Conference, ordination and retirement of clergy and legislative discernment on pressing issues of our time. It is a time of reunion with old friends and the chance to enjoy and learn from the diversity of our United Methodist experience.
Our elected delegates from this congregation are Larry and Susan Herrmann, Randa Krakow, Cheryl Allen and Stephanie Roede. Ann Clarke is a South District delegate. Mark and I are there along with several of the retired clergy who make San Dieguito their church home. This is an exciting year for us as we welcome our new Bishop, Minerva Carcaņo and hear her vision for our ministry in this region in the coming years.
This Sunday, we welcome Rev. Chuck Hoffman as guest preacher. Chuck served this church as Senior Minister with distinctive leadership and gentle care for many years and we are always thrilled to have him back in the pulpit. His text for this Sunday is Luke 7:36-50 and the sermon is titled "Two Different Worlds."
See you Sunday,
Martha Wingfield |

| What's Behind the Wall? | |
Founders Hall, June 16
Thank you to our supporters who have already purchased a brick! To date we have raised $2,414.00. Sierra Service Project is an amazing experience for our youth. Each year they have an opportunity to go somewhere new and serve God through various building projects. The work is important, but it's what's behind the work that matters most. The youth are helping those in need. They are loving God and loving others. It's this love in action that makes SSP so special. Our fundraising continues this week. Please stop by the display located in Founders Hall to purchase a brick ranging in price from $1.00 - $100.00. Each brick purchased will reveal "What's Behind the Wall?" and will showcase the reason we go to SSP. |

| Keep Donating Your Pesky Pennies! | |
We are supporting Camp Encinal in the Northwest Conference of the Mexican Methodist Church. Located just 13 miles east of Tecate, the camp and retreat center has six cabins with 12 beds each, restrooms, showers, and a dining hall, thanks to our continuing contributions. We are now supporting the building of a chapel, so please deposit those pesky pennies (and all manner of coins and paper money) into the container, which is located near the coffee, between services. Thank you for your generosity!

| Electronic Giving | | |
Electronic Giving is an efficient and convenient way to make your weekly, monthly, annual, or special offering. Many of our members and friends choose to make their offering this way, rather than by traditional means (the offering plate) on Sunday morning. If electronic giving is a more attractive and convenient method of giving for you, please visit the church website at http://encinitaschurch.com/about-us/giving/, and follow the instructions. If you need assistance, please contact the church office.
