IN OUR MAY ISSUE:
Greetings!

One for all and all for one.  Who can argue with the spirit behind the Three Musketeers' rallying cry?

To be honest, many nonprofit professionals reacted with suspicion rather than shouting that slogan when I floated the idea for a peer-to-peer fundraising conference.   "I don't want to give away our secrets," more than one told me.

What a difference a decade makes.

Last month we asked you to share your most successful videos to create a library of examples others could learn from.  The response was terrific.  That's why peertopeerforum.com now features a healthy, growing video channel.

Take a look, share your best video and let us know if you'd like us to build some other type of creative library.

Who knows -- you might just find or contribute the key that unlocks a game-changing contribution for an important cause.

Sincerely,

David Hessekiel

FocusMagicians, psychics, poker players...and P2P fundraising

What do magicians, psychics and poker players have in common with successful peer-to-peer pros?

They rely on 'tells' to help read a situation and use those clues to their advantage.  Are you effectively reading the tells hidden in your supporters' online activity?  For example:

Participants who send email messages dramatically outperform non-email senders as fundraisers. There are also strong correlations between Facebook®, Twitter®, and YouTube® activity and donations received and the strongest fundraisers use a mix of several online tools.

Knowing this, why not 1) use contests to encourage participants to send their first email messages?  and 2) Make it easy to send well crafted email and social media messages by giving participants sample content to use as a template?

For valuable tips on leveraging the clues in your participants' behavior, check out the free eBook, Drab to Fab: Peer-to-Peer Event Makeover and the upcoming webinar  - The 411 on Engagement: Learning Online Fundraising "Tells" on May 19, 2015.
