Dear

Figuring out how to engage Millennials (folks 20 to 32) was the subject of our first webinar of 2014.

The good news: Peer-to-peer fundraising is well-positioned to tap into this sought-after group. In fact, according to the most recent Millennial Impact Report83% of those surveyed raise money for causes and organizations.

BUT, Millennials are much more into supporting causes they care about than contributing to institutions. Key to winning them over is demonstrating how their support can make a tangible difference to the cause. As you think about your program communications consider that:
  • Mobile use continues to rise among Millennials, and most Millennials prefer to get information online. Therefore it is crucial that their mobile and online experience enable them to immediately take action and feel connected to your cause.
  • Millennials view volunteer opportunities as a way to socially connect with like-minded peers, which moves them beyond technology (social networking) to in-person action. Craft marketing messages that highlight the peer involvement.  For example: "Join 20 other people like you at Clean-Up Day this Saturday."

Wishing you a year of success!
