The Difference Between Red and White Wine Glasses
I'm sure you've noticed that red wine and white wine are often served in different shaped glasses.
Typically red wine glasses will be a bit taller and have a larger bowl than white wine glasses. In general reds are bigger and bolder wines, so they require a larger glass to allow all those aromas and flavours to emerge.

While you can certainly get by with one set of glasses, if you are serving both reds and whites in your household, you may find that the glassware is holding back your experience, particularly if you're drinking red wine out of a smaller white wine glass.

Does that mean you won't enjoy your wine? Of course not. However, a proper varietal-glass pairing can make a tremendous difference.
Next time you open a bottle of wine, try it out in a couple of different shaped glasses and see whether you notice a difference.

ORDERING WINE
Artful Or Awkward?

DID YOU KNOW?

Did you know that Wine Kitz Ottawa Iris has developed a Community Partnership Program that allows us to support local community fundraising efforts in a meaningful way?
There are so many important causes that our customers support, and we like to help where we can. Many community organizations take advantage of our very popular Gift Certificate Give Away program.

If you think that Wine Kitz Ottawa Iris might be a viable fundraising partner for your organization, check out this link and get in touch with me. We work with a wide variety of local community groups.

When we work together, we all win.

At the Ottawa Food & Wine Festival's Spring Show a few weeks ago, I had the opportunity to talk with hundreds of wine lovers about my very favourite topic (you guessed it - wine!), and of course I got to taste all of the  Gold Medal winning wines from the 2015 Show. I love doing that, because it always reinforces for me how comparable and delicious the wines we make for our customers at Wine Kitz Ottawa Iris are.

Meanwhile, back in the Wine Kitz Ottawa Iris winery, our awesome team of winemakers are diligently monitoring and processing the over 800 wines you started during our May sales event.

Thanks for making Wine Kitz Ottawa Iris the #1 wine making destination in the National Capital Region. We take great pride in the wines we produce, and every member of the Wine Kitz Ottawa Iris team strives to ensure every experience you have with us is exceptional.

If you haven't been in yet to get your summer wines started, there's still time.

Cheers!
