Growing bigger and better each year, this is one of the best wine events of the year. It is not to be missed if you love California wines like I do.

ARE WOMEN BETTER WINE TASTERS THAN MEN?

Local and world-renowned Sommelier Natalie MacLean recently took a look at the science of tasting wine and discovered an interesting fact. Here is what Natalie had to say: 

"Men are from Mars, women are from Venus, but are we on two different planets when it comes to tasting wine?

Dr. Linda Bartoshuk, at Yale University School of Medicine, discovered the super taster phenomenon in 1999, along with the fact that women are more than twice as likely to be super tasters than men...read more 

It might be a bit colder than we expected today, but I'm happy to see the snow almost gone and know that the cold temperatures will soon follow. The feeling of Spring always brings a sense of energetic renewal as we put away our winter gear and think about new projects to reorganize our homes and revitalize our lives. 

While I always enjoy the opportunity for some personal cocooning during the winter months, I am energized by the many wine and food events that fill the calendar during the springtime. If you love wine, you are guaranteed to have a great time. Think about joining me at one of them.
Spring is one of the busiest wine making seasons at Wine Kitz Ottawa Iris, and April is a perfect time to get your summer wines started.

April also is the month we welcome our snowbirds home and look forward to helping them restock their wine cellars for the spring and summer.
