HCCM Appoints New Executive Director
Hill Country Community Ministries is pleased to announce that beginning October 5, 2015 Tiesa Hollaway was appointed as the organization's new Executive Director.  Following an extensive search, the Board of Directors unanimously approved Hollaway for the position.  Hollaway recently left the real estate industry after 17 years to pursue her call and passion of serving her community. Board Chairman Jerrell Roque said, "We had many strong candidates from all over the Central Texas area.  Hollaway brings amazing energy, enthusiasm and ten plus years of proven nonprofit and organizational development, knowledge and experience."

"I am extremely honored and excited about being selected as the Executive Director for Hill Country Community Ministries," Hollaway said.  "I join an organization that has a great foundation.  HCCM has been around for over 30 years and has tremendous growth potential in our community.  We serve people in crisis or living in poverty in one of the fastest growing areas in the nation.  When people need help with food, clothing or other resources, I want them to think of Hill Country Community Ministries.  If we can't help them, I want to position ourselves as a resource; building relationships with organizations in our community so we can get them the help they need.  I am very excited to work with the Board, volunteers, staff, our member churches and affiliated churches."
Follow the Star
December 3, 4, & 5
The fourth annual Follow the Star event, produced by Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, is scheduled for December 3, 4, and 5.  The event is an outdoor drive-through and walk-through production featuring ten critical scenes which follow the life of Christ from birth to resurrection. Professional sound, lighting and approximately 250 cast and crew members make this a spectacular event.

Follow the Star is free and open to the public.  Attendees are asked to bring nonperishable food items to be donated to Hill Country Community Ministries Food Pantry.  All food and monetary donations benefit HCCM.  For more information go to the  event website.
2015 Holiday Turkey Project
Holiday Turkeys for Needy Families
Turkey Resized
We anticipate that we will distribute approximately 500 turkeys to needy families this year during the Thanksgiving and Christmas holiday season.  You, your church, business or civic organization can help by donating funds to purchase turkeys for families in need.  The cost of each turkey is approximately $15.  Funds raised over and above the cost of the turkeys will be used to provide all the "fixin's" for the turkey dinner and purchase additional food during the holiday season.  Please see the flier for more information and be sure to share it with your friends and neighbors.  We appreciate your support!
Give the Gift of Hope
This Christmas season give the gift of hope to area families in crisis.  Honor your friends, family and business associates with a donation to Hill Country Community Ministries.  For a donation of $10 you will receive a 5" x 7" card (and envelope) to acknowledge your donation to HCCM and honor your card recipient.  Our thanks to artist Kathleen McElwaine for once again donating her beautiful artwork for this year's card and Frank Grafius and his team at Minuteman Press in Cedar Park for continuing to donate the printing.  See the flier for more information and order your cards today!
Coats, Jackets & Blankets Needed
Our supply of coats, jackets, and blankets is very limited.  You can help by clearing out your closet of unused or unwanted coats and jackets and donating them to our Clothes Closet.

We can also use blankets.  All items need to be clean and in what we call "gently-used, serviceable" condition.  A coat or jacket and blanket drive makes a good group project this time of year.
Hill Country Community Ministries is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit corporation, a coalition of churches assisted by area businesses, civic organizations, schools and caring individuals that provides food, clothing and other assistance for people in crisis and those living in proverty in southwest Williamson and northwest Travis counties.
