Holiday Turkey Project

Turkey ResizedHoliday Turkeys for Needy Families

Due to the great number of families needing assistance, we anticipate that we will distribute approximately 600 turkeys to needy families

HPF Children Turkeys
Turkeys "for sale" at HighPoint Fellowship, provided by children's classes.

this year during the Thanksgiving and

Christmas holiday season.  You, your church, business or civic organization can help by donating funds to purchase turkeys for families in need.  The cost of each turkey is approximately $15.  Funds raised over and above the cost of the turkeys will be used to provide all the "fixin's" for the turkey dinner and purchase additional food during the holiday season.

Please see the flier for more information and be sure to share it with your friends and neighbors. We need lots of turkeys - please help!

H-E-B Million Dollar Charity Shoot Out!

December 3 - Twin Creeks Country Club

Golf Tournament Benefits HCCM

The second H-E-B Million Dollar Charity Shoot Out benefiting Hill Country Community Ministries is scheduled for Monday, December 3 at Twin Creeks Country Club.

Last year's tournament was a huge success and raised $9,713.57 for Hill Country Community Ministries. The tournament is the brainchild of real estate broker Brad Schaible, owner of Schaible Realty, who coordinates the event along with help from his family, staff members, a planning committee and many business and community sponsors. Schaible said he hopes to double the proceeds this year to help even more families in need. "We are proud of the work HCCM does in the community and we want to do all we can to help," he said. "We still need sponsors and we want all area golfers to come out for some good fun, good prizes and a good cause."

Million Dollar Hole-in-One Shoot Out!

The highlight of the tournament is the million dollar hole-in-one shoot out. The names of 10 lucky players are drawn for a chance to sink a hole-in-one and win a cool $1,000,000!

Other Golf Tournament Excitement

Re-Play Card for Multiple Courses.  How's this for a great deal!  All players receive a "re-play" card good for one round of golf (greens fees) at each of five Dominion Golf Group courses: Twin Creeks, River Place, Onion Creek, Lantana and Bridlewood.

Helicopter Golf Ball Drop

If you don't play golf or can't play the day of the tournament, you can still help area families in need and have a chance to win a Spring Break Getaway in Palm Springs, California! Numbered golf balls will be sold for a chance to win the two getaway prizes:  1 ball/$10; 3 balls/$20; or 10 balls/$50. The morning of the tournament, to kick off the event, up to 1,000 numbered golf balls will be dropped on a green at Twin Creeks. The first and second numbered balls in the hole wins the first and second prize.  If a ball does not drop in the hole, the first and second ball closest to the hole will win!  Helicopter Ball Drop and Prizes.

We are grateful to H-E-B for returning as title sponsor for the tournament and we especially want to thank Gary Anderson, store manager for H-E-B Plus! Leander, for his great support.  Thanks, H-E-B, for your commitment to our community.

Follow the Star

December 6, 7 & 8

Good Shepherd Lutheran Church

Spectacular Event will Benefit HCCMFollow The Star Poster

Good Shepherd Lutheran Church is preparing to bring Follow the Star to Central Texas December 6-8. Follow the Star is an outdoor drive-through and walk-through production featuring 10 pivotal scenes of the life of Jesus Christ. Professional sound, lighting and approximately 250 cast and crew members will make this a spectacular event. This production is distinct from other outdoor Christmas productions because it features not only the Nativity scene of Jesus, but His death and resurrection as well. When asked, "why the crucifixion scene during the Christmas season?," Pastor Marty Bauer answered, "people need to know the rest of the story. This pageant is our gift to the community. Just as Jesus met the spiritual, emotional and physical needs of people, so do we intend to do the same through this production."

Admission is free.  Visitors are asked to bring nonperishable food items, which will be donated to HCCM.

We are grateful to Good Shepherd Lutheran Church for this generous gift to the community and for selecting HCCM as the beneficiary of donations collected during Follow the Star.

For more information about the event or for volunteer and sponsorship opportunities, please contact Good Shepherd Lutheran Church at 512-258-6227 or www.gslc.cc/, or check out the event website at www.followthestartexas.com.  You may also follow event set construction on www.facebook.com/FollowTheStarTexas.

Be sure to mark you calendar and plan to attend one or more evenings of the event, December 6, 7 and 8. Bring the family, your friends and neighbors. You won't want to miss this event!
