Holiday Inn PDX This Place is Hot!
When the 2013 PNBA Tradeshow kicks off in Portland on Oct. 6, the event will be facilitated by the same core staff that has been so welcoming and accommodating for multiple shows over the past several years.
No doubt, you'll recognize some faces. What you may not recognize is the Holiday Inn Portland-Airport.
With a new lobby, restaurant and bar, it won't take but a millisecond to spot (and sense) the improvements. The pool has been remodeled and enclosed, and guests are now greeted by the aroma of--ready for this--Stumptown Coffee!
Guest and event rooms have also received makeovers, so every aspect of your stay has been improved.
And what will this upgrade cost you--including free wi-fi and parking? You can secure a PNBA show rate of just $99 per night!
So what else do you need to know? How about new offerings and events and nearly 100 authors. Individual event and the full show schedule.
Registration. (We're pretty sure we'll see you there.)

This is Between Us by Kevin Sampsell Tin House Books
Chronicling five years of a troubled romance, This Is Between Us offers an intimate view of one couple's struggle-from the illicit beginnings of sexual obsession to the fragile architecture of a pieced-together family. Full of sweet moments, emotional time bombs, unexpected humor, and blunt sexuality, the daily life of this man and woman, both recently divorced, with children and baggage in tow, emerges in all of its complexity. In this utterly engrossing debut novel, Kevin Sampsell delivers a confessional tale of love between two resilient people who have staked their hearts on each other.

"If you know kids interested in earth sciences, especially dinosaurs and the like (but you also get a lot of history and geology), this will be a fun read for them. You and your inner 12-year-old, too." --The Detroit News

Helping Booksellers when They Most Need it Do You Know what BINC Can Do for You?
"We hear it all the time, bookstore employees who are doing everything right; living within their means, cutting back on extras and making a good life doing what they love by connecting people to books. Then in a flash, their life turns upside down.... Our goal is for all booksellers to know that this is when they should call Binc. We will do whatever we can to help them get back on their feet, to restore their household to the pre-emergency state. But they can't call if they don't know about Binc."
Visit BINC, the Book Industry Charitable Foundation, on the show floor. They'll be holding court on Monday and Tuesday at Table 25, available to answer your questions and for private consultations.
