Holiday Catalog Orders Almost Due Store Campaign Details Due Next Wednesday!
August 21 is the deadline for stores to turn in in-store and insertion orders as well as imprint art.
In 2012 participating stores reported the highest sales figures in the last ten years of the campaign!
And this year, we'll even give you an additional penny back on each imprinted catalog you send out to your customers and your community. That's right, your PNBA Board of Directors approved a three cent reimbursement, so the numbers are already looking good for stores.
Get your details together and your order form filled ASAP!
And here's a little info on our catalog theme title for this year. What the Heart Knows: Chants, Charms, and Blessings is a collection of poems from Newbery Honor Medalist Joyce Sidman and illustrated by Caldecott Honor-winning artist Pamela Zagarenski.
Here's what publisher, Houghton Mifflin Harcourt has to say: "What the Heart Knows: Chants, Charms, and Blessings is a collection of poems to provide comfort, courage, and humor at difficult or daunting moments in life. It conjures forth laments, spells, invocations, chants, blessings, promises, songs, and charms... These words help us remember or grieve; they bolster courage and guard against evil; they help us celebrate and give thanks." Here's a look at some of Zagarenski's recent work. Phenomenal.

Ideas That Work Inklings Finds a Winner
This customer note comes from Yakima's Inklings Bookshop in the August edition of the store's newsletter, The Inkspot. Have you signed up yet for our Friends of Inklings Loyalty program? After many years and many requests from you, we started our new program in May. I bought a little cardboard file box and thought we would take some months to fill it. Was I ever surprised! By the end of May we had 1000 customers signed up and we've now moved into a vintage, four-drawer wooden card catalog!
It only takes about a minute to sign up, so don't miss out on all the fun! We write your pre-tax purchase amount on the card each time you buy anything at Inklings. After six purchases, we average those amounts and give you 5% back in store credit. Also at that time, we give you a bright, shiny red custom Inklings bag and when you bring it in to the shop on any fifth Saturday (August and November are the next months with fifth Saturdays) you will get 20% off everything you can fit in the bag on that day.
So, sign up today! We appreciate each one of you! --Susan Richmond |
