The rebuilding project at Yemin Orde Youth Village is making steady progress as warmer weather moves in. Floor foundations are poured, walls are up and you can clearly see the shape of the new homes.

Chaim Peri to Receive Honorary Degree from Brandeis University

Friends of Yemin Orde is pleased to announce that visionary educator, Dr. Chaim Peri, will receive an honorary doctorate degree from Brandeis University at its May 19, 2013, commencement ceremonies in Waltham, MA. Peri is recognized for his extraordinary work on behalf of Israel's youth.

During Israel's recent Independence Day celebrations, 120 IDF soldiers received honors for outstanding military service, an exceptional group that included three graduates of the Yemin Orde Mechina in Hatzor! Israel President Shimon Peres and IDF Chief of Staff Lt. Gen. Benny Gantz cited the soldiers for "meaningful service and extraordinary contribution to the IDF and State of Israel." |

This year at ORT Technology Acco, just before the Passover holiday, the community chose to do something alittle different - Village Way style. In a break from routine in the dining room, a communal feast was prepared. But why? Asking questions, departures from routine and understanding why we make changes are all relevant preludes to celebrating Passover. ORT Technology Acco is a partner educational community of Yemin Orde Educational Initiatives.

This year's Etgar hike presented a bit more challenge than usual: heavy rains made for muddy trails and difficult walking. Our kids rose to the occasion and completed the arduous three-day hike with enthusiasm and team spirit.
