July -2016

Greetings from TTN Bay Area Chair, Barbara Aspelin
A happy summer welcome to you all.  June was an exciting month beginning with the Bay Area Adventuristas taking a Victorian House walking tour in San Francisco, and then holding a New Member Tea at the Berkeley Yacht Club.  That was followed by a Welcome to Summer happy hour event held on June 22nd.  It's always wonderful to mix and mingle on these occasions.

Our newsletter and website are great ways to stay informed about TTN events, new special interest groups and peer groups forming, and member announcements.  We have just revised many of the Chapter website pages and encourage you to take a look.

For members who have misplaced their website log-in password, we have provided a link where you can change your password. Click HERE for the link.

Wishing everyone a wonderful summer......Stay tuned for upcoming announcements.

SPECIAL INTEREST GROUPS

Writing Special Interest Group Coming in September!

Sharpen your writing voice in a safe, supportive space, designed to bring renewed energy to your writing goals. Writers of all abilities and genres will meet to create fresh writing, receive positive feedback, and deepen their commitment to their
personal writing goals. Using prompts to awaken the imagination, writers will have an opportunity to create fresh, unexpected writing.  This group will meet once a month on a weekday afternoon in the East Bay.

The group will be facilitated by Adina Sara, new TTN member and Bay Area author whose recently published novel, "Blind Shady Bend", tells of a woman turning 70 whose life is about to open up in unexpected ways. She previously published 2 memoirs, about office life and gardening, and was a garden columnist for the MacArthur Metro, an Oakland neighborhood newspaper. Interested in this group? Contact Janice Wallace at
janicewallace2016@gmail.com

SF PEER GROUP FACILITATORS NEEDED
Our present SF Peer Facilitators who have been launching peer groups for several years will be stepping down.  This is a fun position - especially if you work with a colleague.  It involves collecting the names of prospective peer group members, forming a waiting list, and helping the members launch their new group.  If you and a friend are interested and would like to be more involved in supporting the Bay Area TTN chapter, contact Barbara Aspelin.
