A Message from Our NYC Chapter Chair | |
Hello TTNers,
Hope you had a wonderful summer and are enjoying the last few weeks before Fall sets in. This month's newsletter is devoted primarily to an update on the Caring Collaborative.
The Caring Collaborative is a vital part of our TTN community with more than half of our membership actively engaged in its activities.
If you are not a member, we encourage you to join. If you are already a member, please continue or increase your involvement by joining a neighborhood group or attending the health-related talks and workshops described in this newsletter.
We look forward to seeing you at all of the other wonderful TTN events we are planning this Fall.
Kind Regards,
Eileen Kobrin,

CC Co-Chair

The heat of summer is past, but the humidity has not dampened our Caring Collaborative creativity. You asked for a look behind the scenes, and we are giving it to you right now. We created two exciting videos starring Barbara Alpern, and Sally Olds, both CC members. In these three-minute |

clips, you will learn all you ever wanted to know about their unique experiences with CC. Go ahead, click on the link below and hear for yourself the great value that CC membership offers.
We have launched additional Caring Collaborative Neighborhood Groups this year, with more coming soon. If you've attended Caring Collaborative Orientation and want to join a CC Neighborhood Group, please contact our CC Coordinator:
Whether you're ready to join a Neighborhood Group, hoping to tame stress through Mindfulness, or finally decided to join CC, don't miss out on these powerful additions to your TTN membership.
Sincerely,

With this issue we begin our "How are we doing?" section. We would appreciate your feedback, reactions, and ideas to our quarterly edition of The Caring Times. What comments and reactions do you have to features in the current edition? What subjects can you suggest for future articles? What sort of Tips would be helpful for you? What Health Tips?

Mindfulness: Be Here Now
| |
by Lucia McBee
Women "of a certain age" are often in the midst of many changes. Change can be exciting, challenging, frightening, stressful, or all of these. Mindfulness-Based Interventions (MBIs) offer a mind/body approach towards health and healing that teaches coping skills for conditions that disproportionately impact older adults such as chronic illness, stress, and pain.
