Jaden Conwright Secures 2014 VMB Racing Scholarship

Sonoma, CA

March 6th, 2014

This week the 2014 World Speed Motorsports Rising Star Award winners tested at Buttonwillow Raceway Park with World Speed Motorsports. The WSM Rising Star Awards have been provided to up and coming championship caliber racers for over 20 years.

A unique feature of this year's free tests was the fact that VMB Driver Development was going to be attending the test, and would select one driver to receive a full scholarship in the 2014 FCC presented by Goodyear.

Jaden Conwright from Newark California was the driver selected to represent VMB in the upcoming season. "All the drivers did incredibly well, as we expected they would," noted WSM Team Owner Telo Stewart. "It is great that we were able to provide the testing opportunity to these young racers, and help them learn more about working alongside industry professionals. We expect to see great things from this year's award winners, based on what we have seen from our past selections. We are also excited to add Jaden to the team for 2014, and look forward to working with him all season!"

The FCC presented by Goodyear season opener is March 15th-16th at Sonoma Raceway in California.

A Note From VMB President Steve Brisentine:

What an exciting day at Buttonwillow Racetrack for three young and up and coming drivers as well as a new owner of a FormulaSPEED2.0 race car.

With a full year's scholarship at stake for the 2014 race season, the young drivers went through two track sessions, interviews with VMB and World Speed Principals and critiques from Professional Drivers and Coaches.

After a full day at the track, the selection team evaluated all aspects of driving, coach-ability, constant improvement throughout the day, and eagerness to advance in the sport of racing. All of the drivers were strong in certain aspects. The overall scores lead to one driver at the end of the day.

VMB Driver Development and World Speed Motor sports would like to congratulate Jaden D. Conwright on securing the 2014 VMB Scholarship.

We wish Jake and Nathan much success in racing this next season and we will be following them on their progress!

Thank you all for making this decision a very tough choice as you all are great athletes as well as fine gentleman.

Thank You,

Steve Brisentine

Quote from Jaden Conwright:

"I again want to thank World Speed Motorsports and VMB Driver Development for the amazing opportunity to test and be a part of their teams. WSM and VMB made me feel very comfortable and relaxed, so I could completely focus on driving.  I developed new friendships with other drivers and their families, and am very much looking forward to receiving more professional coaching, instruction and feedback, like what I received on the test day.

I am very honored and humbled to be selected as WSM's/VMB's 2014 Scholarship Winner, especially from such a talented field of drivers.  I will represent WSM and VMB with commitment, hard work, professionalism, and a desire to continue to improve as a driver and as a person. Thank you for believing in me, and for giving me the opportunity to pursue my dream of becoming a professional racer."

Quote from Jaden's parents Craig and Kim Conwright:

"We want to thank WSM and VMB for the unbelievable experience and very warm welcome extended to our family. In the world of racing, people often believe that a commitment to winning and a commitment to friends and relationships cannot co-exist.  We believe, and our experience has shown, that this is untrue.

The professionalism, skill, expertise and team cohesive demonstrated by WSM and VMB were remarkable, and we look forward to learning as much as possible from each and every team member, as a result of the amazing offer presented to our young driver and family.  We're excited that the next stage of Jaden's driver development will be with such a top-notch team. Without the generosity of VMB and Steve Brisentine, and the expert guidance, knowledge and support of both WSM and VMB, none of this would be possible

We are committed to fully supporting WSM and VMB, and contributing to their successes both on the track and off.  We are sincerely humbled and proud to be a part of their families, and are most grateful for this amazing opportunity and their support of our young driver."
