Penultimate FCC Double Header at Sonoma Raceway

Two time PFM Champ Stan Kohls has perfect weekend, Nicklin locks FS2.0 championship, Fischer and Kemper each post wins in FM

October 1st, 2013
Sonoma, CA

Fourteen competitors took to Sonoma Raceway this past weekend for the penultimate Formula Car Challenge presented by Goodyear double header. The weather was beautiful all weekend with temperatures in the mid-80s, and mostly sunny skies.

Stan Kohls started off the weekend by putting his Pro FM on overall pole. He then followed it up with the fastest lap of the race, and the race win. In the FormulaSPEED2.0 class, Parker Nicklin turned his personal best time in qualifying and secured the win. The other story in the FormulaSPEED2.0 class was Greg Holloway. Holloway is a visiting Australian FF racer who is on a racing vacation testing out a variety of cars and tracks in the United States. The FS2.0 was on his list of cars to check out, and he had a very solid showing for his first time at Sonoma Raceway. 2013 National FCC Formula Mazda Champion TJ Fischer secured pole, and the win in the FM class. Mel Kemper set the fastest race lap in FM, and finished in 2nd. FM racer Jeff Tucker secured his first podium of the 2013 FCC season finishing in third.
