You're Invited to MISD's Multicultural Festival 2016
Celebrate the strength in our diversity on Saturday, Feb. 27 from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the MISD Center for the Performing Arts.

The fourth annual Multicultural Fest will be filled with games, activities, performances, food, and more--and it's all for free!

Mansfield ISD Celebrates Black History Month
February is the national observance of the achievements and contributions of African-Americans throughout U.S. history.
 
Several MISD campuses will be commemorating Black History Month by holding special programs, hosting read-ins, and displaying projects about the achievements of African-Americans.

MISD Academic and Athletic Teams Headed to State
Mansfield ISD is proud of the following organizations that will be competing at the state level in the coming weeks.
  • Summit, Legacy, and Lake Ridge High School Academic Decathlon teams advance to state. More »
  • DECA team wins Chapter of the Year and advances to the next level of competition. More »
  • Students in the Business Professionals of America (BPA) head to state. More »
  • Swimmers from each MISD high school will be represented at the state level. More »
Dozens of Student-Athletes Participate in National Signing Day
More than 30 Mansfield ISD student-athletes took part in National Signing Day, which takes place on the first Wednesday in February.

National Signing Day is the first day a high school senior can sign a binding National Letter of Intent to accept an athletic scholarship to attend a Division I, II, or NAIA University.

Congrats to the Two-Time District Spelling Bee Winner
Jeremy Pham, eighth grader at James Coble Middle School, has been named the 2016 MISD Spelling Bee champion. It's an honor he also won as a seventh grader.

Pham was the winner among the 35 contestants from each of the district's elementary, intermediate, and middle schools. His winning word was catastrophe.

Two Harlem Globetrotters visited Brooks Wester Middle School to congratulate KLTY Teacher of the Month Stephanie Shackelford.

  • A teacher from Brooks Wester Middle School got quite the surprise when a local radio station, along with two celebrities, presented her with an award. More »
  • The Mary Orr Intermediate School choir was one of only six elementary-aged groups in the entire state to be selected to perform at the TMEA conference. More »
  • The Legacy High School JROTC drill team earned a spot at The Army Nationals where the cadets will be competing with some of the best teams in the U.S. More »
     
  • A group of 100 MISD staff members came together to learn how to spread positivity. The Ambassador Training Academy unites district employees to foster a community built on mutual support. More » 
  • Students and staff at Anna May Daulton Elementary School raised supplies and money for military dogs. To kick off the fundraiser, the campus received a visit from Fort Hood soldiers. More »
