Revision to the 2015-16 Calendar
Under new state law, the school year is now counted as 75,600 minutes rather than 180 days. The change is meant to give districts more flexibility in how they make up for missed instructional days. The Mansfield ISD School Board approved revisions to the 2015-16 calendar to better fit the needs of the district, including April 15 being changed to a student holiday and June 1 now being the last day of school. Thank You for Supporting the Colors for Caring Initiative
We want to say thank you to everyone in the community who has participated in Mansfield ISD's community initiative to support those with cancer.
On the first Monday of each month in the 2015-16 school year, MISD is encouraging the community to wear a color that represents a cancer that affected the life of a loved one. The initiative was started by Superintendent Dr. Jim Vaszauskas after the outpouring of support he received during his recent bout with thymoma cancer.
