October Parent-Teacher Conferences

Mansfield ISD parents will once again have an opportunity to meet with their student's teachers during the district wide conference times. Campuses have set aside time to invite parents to the school to discuss how things are going this year in the classroom.

Conference times will be available on Thursday, October 9, and Friday, October 10. Please check with your school(s) for specific times. Additional information here.
Supporting SHS Coach Travis Pride

The head football coach at Summit High School, Travis Pride, is one of two coaches the Dallas Cowboys have listed for this week's Coach of the Week contest!

The winning coach will receive $2,000 for his team, and will be recognized at the end of the year during half-time at a Dallas Cowboys game.

ABOUT COACH TRAVIS PRIDE
In Week 5 of high school football, Mansfield Summit Coach Travis Pride led the Jaguars to a 42-7 victory over inner-city rival Mansfield Legacy. Setting down a game plan to handle Legacy's rugby-style kicking game, the Jaguars blocked two punts and came out to an early 28-0 lead before halftime. The Jaguars are now 3-2 on the season and 2-0 in district play. The win also catapulted the Jaguar's local area ranking from No. 20 to No. 9.

Voting closes at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday, October 2. Vote here today!

National Merit Scholarship Finalists

The term "blue chip" is often used in reference to the quality of investments, stocks, and even athletes. It is also used to describe something of high quality and excellent performance. In this case, "blue chip" refers to the four Mansfield ISD students chosen as semifinalists in the 2015 National Merit Scholarship Program.
